People that have never experienced this type of heat just don't understand. The hardest thing for people to understand is the fact you don't feel yourself sweating and more clothes coverage is better than less Let's put it this way. Stand on the grass when it's hot, then move to the middle of a mall parking lot. You WILL see a sizable increase in temperature and "felt temperature" due to reflection and stored heat. It's also one of the reasons that cities can easily be 10 degrees hotter at the center than the suburbs.

All of that completely off topic talk aside.... I simultaneously moved to the 1.5 rear and down from 42.5 to 37.5 in the front to try to get more off power cornering. Sadly, it was a mess yesterday. The 1.5 REALLLY locks down the rear, almost to the point of being boring. It was flying great, but it was pushing like crazy. I had little to no turning ability off power. So that being said, I haven't done a full teardown of the buggy since it was built and maybe it's time. I'm still using the Blair 02.28.13 DNC setup sheet primarily with a few modifications (1.5, etc), including the kyosho springs. I've seen a lot of guys playing with diff oils, etc. For a medium/loose outdoor track, anyone have newer recommended setups with all the parts changes and modifications everyone has been testing? I have a few ideas myself, but wanted to see what you guys propose.

With more rear toe in you should experience more turn in and less steering on power.

SHOULD being the optimum word there Track conditions have changed and it's been literally 6 weeks since we've been able to race with the historic rains we've had (last I checked, we're 20" or so above average already for the year)... but it certainly seemed like steering was decreased off power quite a bit.

I was running light blue k springs and found the car to be pushy off power. I went to tekno pinks front and rear and the car came alive. Tekno green front and rear when bite is medium. Loose tracks are hard to get steering or rear bite. That seemed to be the happy medium. Overall my car was better than almost all the cars on the track. I get beat by better drivers not cars. I can live with that.lol

Because it also cleans any grease or oil out of the bearing...and then the tiny bit of oil it adds evaporates away. Use bearing oil or grease...its the same reason why you aren't supposed to use wd40 on any type of bearing (automotive, hobby etc).

Loving this buggy! Got out for the first time last weekend at Leisure Hours Raceway. I bought mine used and it seems pretty loud... When I get up to speed it sounds almost like an engine, like a dirtbike! Is this the sound the buggy makes when the front driveshaft is out of whack? I have noticed that it wobbles a decent amount. Any other tips for quieting the buggy down in general?

A straight center shaft is much quieter. The other big thing I noticed is that for some reason on this buggy the Novak and RC-Monster pinion gears are alot quieter than the Tekno or Robinson pinion gears. Must have something to do with the shape of the teeth.

Make sure the front and rear diffs are shimmed for a tight gear mesh but still have just a tick of play.

I also run pretty heavy sway bars too keep the car from rolling too far in the corners. The car seems to really like soft springs. My fastest and most consistant lap times are with a very soft spring rate.

I should have my rear toe plate on by tuesday so I should be able to give you some input next time we race. I went with a lighter rear spring than you run. Mine is pretty good for my driving style so hoping the extra toe makes it better.

I noticed that this buggy is kinda like a touring car in the sense that if something happens you instantly know something is up, I had a bad oring in my shock and instantly I knew when it gave way, it only lost about half an inch of oil, which in any other buggy I woulda drove through. Kinda attests to the precision and smoothness of the car, saying it as a good thing

I'm running the Kyosho light blues all the way around and noticed off power steering improved a bit by removing the front sway bar. I think I'm going to try the K-orange springs all the way around and see if that helps as off power steering is my biggest issue at the tight indoor I've been racing at.

On a side note I suffered some ugly crashes this weekend and thought everything was fine while at the track. Only when I unpacked at home did I noticed I'd been driving with a half broken off front A-arm, Very impressed with this kit...

If you need more off-power steering try increasing your anti-squat or running the Ackermann in the rear position.
