While I made videos of the races, unfortunately the car wasn't run.

Here's a couple quick photos of it in the pits though, so you can see the general layout with the mentioned packs.

Hopefully they'll soon put up some more higher quality photos of their own (as they mentioned) to show off the car and installation more.

Note: I have no special connection, I'm just playing paparazzi for you all. O:-)

The EB48 is already very light and having a car that is just too light could make it harder to drive especially on a rough track. I see it myself with my JQ when I go from a 2200mah lipo to a 3700 in 5S between the quals and finals, the weight can be an help to have a car that feels more planted. It will be a bit slower in the corners of course but it's just a compromise to find. I try to have the lightest car I can, but there is a limit where I do too many mistakes to make it worth it. That said an experienced driver will handle a very light car much easier, so its up to the driver
I agree with the latter points made. I run a Losi 810E buggy and I think it's too light. I am using a Castle 3800KV motor on 3S. The car is quite nimble, but it flips over a bit too much for my liking after jumps (Outdoor track -- my current setup might be ok for an indoor track with somewhat small jumps) I have a heavier buggy that does not flip over easily. I will convert my 810E buggy to a 4 cell setup and use this as a baseline for my future Teckno buggy. I am hoping with the added weight of a 4 cell battery and a slightly heavier motor that I can eliminate the flipping aspect... It will be interesting to see the different effects.........

550€ (more than 700$) is too expensive for us European, if someone know a reseller who use UPS for international shipping, that will be cool

550€ i think is do-able, most kit's is 400 to 450 and another 100 for converting.

if customs catch your buggy you'll get fee depends from country where you live, for example in Poland it's min 23%
Shipping cost are something about 60$ for buggy.
But, some e-shops takes 2-3 times more, I never understand that.

Default Lucas Sanford and the Tekno RC EB48 Win JBRL Rnd #4

Round 4 of the 2012 JBRL electric series is in the books. And so is another TQ and 1st place finish for the new Tekno RC EB48 1/8th Electric Buggy. The event held at Pegasus Hobbies in southern California drew nearly 240 entries. In the 1/8th Electric class Tekno RC driver Lucas Sanford was dialed in from the beginning. He TQ’d both rounds of qualifying and went on to finish the main in 1st place with ease. Using his indoor setup from SDRC and only changing out the shock fluid when the sun went down to accommodate for temperature proved the new Tekno RC EB48 platform is a consistent performer in many conditions. Congrats on the win Lucas!

The EB48 is currently available for pre-order on our site and at major hobby shops around the world. Expected release date is Summer 2012.

Justpoet,

Thanks for posting the pictures of the car. I know some are patiently awaiting the arrival of this buggy. You wont be disappointed, so the wait is worth it. We're planning on attending the nitro nats next month in Pennsylvania. If the buggy hasn't been released by then and we have some extra room in our luggage we will bring it with us, so those back east can take a look if interested.

Very nice. That race was won in the corners. This car appears to rotate very nicely in the corners and it does so without sliding the rear end around. Should be a very interesting car to drive.

Noce job. JBRL attracts some of the best drivers in the area/nation/world. Must feel nice to TQ a prototype car and get the win as well

From the videos we've seen, it looks like this car can be made to go fast indoor, outdoor, and in a lot of different conditions.

Now I would like to see the videos where this car was in the hands of a novice driver/basher to see how tough it is
