Here is mine but I am using the motor plugs......
Ahh cool, thanks. The motor I got is a blue can with no machining on it. It is a 2250kv. It has the plugs like yours but the can is different. That is what I figured also. It seems to be the only way. You never have any problems with the wires hitting the spur?

Rcscrewz is good idea in concept, but the SS screws are actually softer than most quality kit screws. A good quality 12.9 screw is about as ideal as you can get in our situation.

Basically 12.9 steel (typically "black oxide") > stainless > aluminum

A very common misconception that those are actually an "upgrade" in many situations.

I think I was still using the original set of out drives that came with the car for the F/R diffs.
Amen Chris! Btw I am on an original build buggy and when I had that wear problem last season I notified tekno and they hooked me up with 50% off of new outdrives. Not sure if that is still in effect? With the new ones installed you'll notice the opposite effect. The outdrives will exhibit little to no wear while the driveshaft pins wear out a little quicker. But overall much improved wear characteristics nonetheless.

The long screws (40mm) that attach the hinge pin brace (Front and Rear) are giving me a fit. They slide in, and thread approximately half the way and tighten up to the point of wanting to round the screw head tight. I pulled apart the diff case and even ran a pin (longer than the screw) through the whole and it is completely lined up. Is there something I'm doing wrong here?

Attached is a photo of the screws I am referencing.

Thanks!
I just finished my second build last night and didn't have an issue with these screws either time, and I have rebuilt the diffs on the first one too. Strange.

Were yours the original outdrives from a first run kit? My outdrives from the first run kit did wear out pretty quickly, but the replacement harder version have been holding up really well. (not the lightened versions, just the 2nd batch of regular outdrives) They hardly show any wear at all after months or racing on them.

But now you are gonna make me look closer at them...

I'm 99% sure they were the original stock out drives. I never got a replacement set from Tekno. I replaced the couplers on the center diff and rear pinion a few months ago. Surprisingly the front out drives were still in decent condition. I replaced both F/R with the lightened versions last night. Hopefully it won't sound like it has rocks in it anymore.

Build No.2 is almost done. All electrics etc are in, just need to get a friend to solder up ESC and battery connectors and she's a goer!

I agree. That is a sick scheme you got going there. What did you do for the shocks?

Thanks! It's for racing and this is what I can do with the paint.

It's brother is similar. I only had red shock covers at the time so I used them. I have some green ones now.

They are basically matching the colour of wheels and wings that are available.
