what happens if you put your feet together and someone pushes you? now spread your feet 12 inches and what happens now? Roll sir, you will lean more or roll more with a narrow track. You will loose some stability, but roll more in the corners.

Those shims are only there to keep the hexes from rubbing on the bearings. If you think those shims are there as an adjustment, you are not good enough to feel even if they did change something. On the 22, the different thickness hexes were .75mm and 1.5mm wider, and only made a minor difference in handling. The only difference they would make would be if the removal of the shims caused enough drag to slow your car down so it will be easier for you to drive.

My used B4.2 only had the C hub towers, so I ordered a set of all the hub towers. This will leave me with a spare set oif C hub towers when they get here, if someone wants them all I ask is they pay shipping, or I will trade them for a wornout set of wheels n tires. I can not afford a full set of new wheels n tires right now, but I need to break in my diff, and do some initial setup stuff, they can be bald, I am only using them to tune some stuff.

To clarify, the C hub tower change is usually done along with the use of a dremeled down U brace with 0-1mm of washers under the Ballstud.
Switching to the C hub tower without shaving the ubrace will lower your roll center.
Switching to the C hub tower and shaving the ubrace will raise your roll center.
You can achieve a similar feel with the A hub towers and running 0-1mm washers on an unshaved ubrace, but the feel will be slightly different.
