Nice video Rippen! There are still several guys running SC10 4x4's at Dirtburners. I am one of them, but I'm pretty new to this. It would be great to be able to work with you guys on setups / ideas.
I am returning to Michigan soon and will frequent DB's. Especially Tuesday nights.
I plan to try out the hobbywing 4000Kv motor here in a Tekno, from what I have seen, a team driver for Tekno was using it and in comparison to the Tekin Pro4 4600Kv I was using, he appeared to have more punch and we were geared about 1 tooth difference. Pretty powerful motor from what I have heard and runs cool. In the lighter sc10 4x4, should run really cool.
As for ESC, I personally use the Speed Passion GT2.0 Pro. Its small so it fits the SC10 4x4 well and works great with 540 4 pole, 550 2 pole motors. I have also tested it on a 550 4pole motor in my Tekno and it works, but I think to get the most out of the motor, you need something like an RX8 that can handle the higher amps.
As for batteries, really depends on what configuration you plan to do but if you are going to use a saddle or stick pack, give the IP batteries at promatch a look or the SMC ones. I feel for the money, you get a lot of bang for the buck as they do offer pretty good warranties too, promatch's are 1 year.
I personally use the Promatch IP 7200mah 80C batteries in my Tekno which is significantly heavier than the Sc10 4x4 with no issues.
I think they would be excellent in the sc10 4x4 or there saddle packs too.
Runtimes, I got about 13 minutes back with my heavy SC10 4x4 using promatchs older 5200mah 50C saddle packs, so I can imagine what you could get with the newer lipos.

Hi guys... I'm new in this area of rc..just purchase ft sc 10 4x4, i have been reading this thread as well as rcshortcourse thread.....its seem that diff on the original sc10 have problem which did not get enough brake so you can't handle the car on the air...
is it true? or do i have to buy cdiff from rc shock? or exotek one...or the option part from ae will be enough?
And also i'll be using hw sct pro with 4000kv 2 pole..what will be the start gearing on big outdoor track...
thanks guys
