Yea, they work well but take a lot of test time to get them dialed in and have a very small tuning window. The main gripe i hear is that the 8 corners on the piston eat into the anodizing quickly.

i might try it on my 2wd where i can use the toe blocks. the hard part would be finding a spring to fit and stay or i can use some type of rubber or shoegoo. also the 2wd shock mount to the front side witch it going to fight with it a little not sure if that be good or bad.
I would love to see a larger redesign on this chassis. So much so that they should drop the SC10 4x4 name for a SC44 name!!!
Wants:
1) Aluminum plate chassis (you know like Losi, Rango, Rapture, Etc)
2) new diffs and trans case for shaft drive
3) Center diff or even sliperential with forward mounted motor
4) ability to run stick, shorty or saddle packs
5) space to mount larger 8th scale ESCs
6) Metric parts but stick with the common +3mm wheels as the 2wd
7) Stick with the same mounting holes for the body
You know if AE was smart they would build a new chassis that combines Short Course 4x4 and 8th scale electric in one chassis. Common drive train parts that can adapt to the width difference. Some parts from the SC10 4x4 are good and should be used for the a new design. They have a great car in the RC8.2 so why not leverage that design for a new SC44.
Sorry for my rant. Call me a Fanboy if you want but I am close to jumping ship again and decided to switch back to 2wd for now with a new SC10.2. I go back and forth so much it is frustrating. Love my RC8.2. Best car I have owned but I want to race 4x4 Short Course!!!

i hate to copy losi on this Thread but i like to see this belt set up(with out the transmission!!!!) with oil diffs. this set up you can lock center and not brake stuff + 100x easier to work on. and have a flat aluminum chassis like a buggy. have two motor lay out. you can even slide the motor over a little and have oil filled center diff(the gear would be in the middle of the two belts with diff on it) yea the motor would be out a little but not as bad as a tc5.
back motor http://i705.photobucket.com/albums/w...r/DSC01836.jpg
front motor (they got it wrong a little the belts should be on the other side... i had this one and the belt would hit the wires.

I have not seen any damage yet in the blue body shocks had them a year now
We can only hope. This is just the original kit. The Factory team and RTR kits still show available right?

This truck IS perfect.... except....
1) Slipper --> should be oil filled diff
2) 3 gear trans --> should be 4 gear for best rear traction
3) too much flex in the chassis (3 pieces and all) --> Should be aluminum plate
4) Belt drive --> Should be shaft IMHO but a direct belt drive like the TC6 would work
5) Clicker???? Why???
Yes this truck is perfect and I love driving it...but it could be better!

I hope that this Big Announcement is something related to the SC10 4x4 (SC44). Considering that the Electric 8th scale Nationals is coming up in a few months where the only classifications are 8th scale Buggy, Truggy and 4x4 Short Course they really need to release something now to get ready. LCRC is a large somewhat loose track. I really hope the Ryan's race it in all classes
Don't get me wrong. I AM a Team Associated FanBoy all the way. I have nearly jump ship but could not get myself to do it. Considering that AE was the first one to release a 4x4 SCT vehicle with the SC8! They are as connected to the true Off-Road racing world as any manufacturer. Why they departed from the 8th scale layout that works is beside me. Even the B44 layout is better than what we have to work with. I can see some real ideas that looked like this platform was designed for more than just the SC10 4x4 but the few flaws that I mentioned are big. If there was any intent to create a full line of 10th scale vehicles off this chassis it certainly did not work.
