Glitch,

Thank for your interest in the Lamberto Collari Motorsport line of engines. The new .12 is as AFM mentioned balistic! The engine that you looked at in So. Cal. (Ultimate?) was the LCM .12 Pro3I. We are bringing in the IFMAR spec engines which conform to the new ROAR crankshaft rules.

This 3 port ROAR legal engine was recently dyno reviewed in Nitro (by RC Car Action). The specs on it were impressive with a max HP of 1.6 exceeding any .12 engine that they have ever tested including 5port Novarossi's! The engine features AAC construction in addition to the new low CG cooling head design. Regarding the pricing, it should be available from your local shop cheaper than from us. Please keep in mind that we are the importer and prefer to direct business to our dealers. Hope this helps. If you have any other questions please do not hesitat to ask.

Glad to meet you trough this forum.
I do have a question. Are the engines you are importing the
Mauro Collari hand tuned engines?? or are they the standard LCM's ?? (they nave different part number).
I say this, because mine, imported from Europe (EFRA specs) came with Mauro Collari's signature over the head and in the crank and sleeve, and i had the option of importing the other standard version (no signature).

Another question....with what pipe did RC nitro magazine did the dyno test ?????
I'm thinking on buying another Collari.......but with IFMAR specs, because we run IFMAR rules, so I might be giving up power by racing the EFRA spec engine.

Can you give me a listing of hobby shops that sell them in Florida??

Thanks

afm, the first batch of .12's and the one that Car Action dyno tested was the production LCM engine. This engine comes with the modified sleeve with tear drops on the transfers (like JP or NovaMax) but without the additional massaging of the hand modified motors. You get about 90% of the performance of a hand mod motor at a significantly reduced price and with 1.6hp should smoke anything else out there! For the true horse power junkies we will be releasing the hand modified engines in a couple of months but these will be realy limited production motors.

Just to give you some specs on the LC12Pro3 I courtesy of Nitro!

Peak Torque 58 oz-in
Peak Torque at 19,600 RPM
Peak HP 1.6
Peak HP at 33,700 RPM
Max RPM 41,000
This is with 20% nitro fuel!

For you switching over from the EFRA to the IFMAR style engine will show a noticable increase in power and I think that you will be impressed. Regarding where to get the engines in Florida try contacting Superior Hobbies.

According to Steve Ponds the pipe used was a 2 piesce NovaRossi 51602 with 1/2" gap between the manifold and pipe.

IN the LA area try Ultimate Hobbies. They should have some in stock. In N. CA try Sheldons.

Hi,
I have purchased some days ago a Sirio Collari LC12 Pro3, and now I have to buy Sirio Pipe. Do you know what spacer (between flanged exhaust and pipe exhaust) comes with sirio pipe? Is it possible to buy longer or shorter spacers like 21. sirio pipe?
And about glow plugs, which are best long or short bodies?
thanks
Toni

Sirio In-line pipe systems come in two models:

S12 200006 kit karting standard
S12 200007 kit karting for Serpent car

There are two spacers available:

S12 170003 short teflon spacer S12
S12 170004 long teflon spacer S12

Best plug for that engine is Sirio's own:

S00 1720127 Turbo S7

Get in touch with Carlos Ducay in Madrid at MICROMODEL (91-446-3820). He carries all of the items you need for sirio and Collari engines.

Saludos

and novarossi glow plugs?? I don't know if Ducay import them, but in the store I've purchased Collari engine (Pilotos Sin Fronteras) there's only Nova glow plugs.
About sirio pipe, what version I have to buy for a Mugen MTX3, standard one or serpent one? Which spacer come with the kit, long one or short one?
only one question more, what can I do the break in procedure? Same as abc engines?

well, there's a lot of questions . Gracias Alfonso

Hola Toni

You can use Novarossi C7TGF.

I have a Mugen MTX3 Prospec, and I use the standard type.

I'm not sure which one came on the pipe, but they are so cheap, that you might wan't to get both, just in case.

For break-in procedure i've answered your private message at Coches RC forum, I'm Papo over there.

BTW, check my previous posts here about carburation of AAC engines.

Engine is ballistic. I have the M.Collari EFRA version engine. I TQ'd and won this past weekend at our local championship. Just remember that beeing an AAC engine it needs to be warmed up properly to get the right carburation, it can be misleading when it is cold. It takes more time to warm up than a regular ABC engine. At the start of a heat it will look as if it is rich, but once on temp it rocks and runs like a mad dog.
Another thing; it loves cold plugs (7), it works best with Sirio's own pipe (for EFRA version), and it needs to be geared at least one tooth shorter than Nova based engines (power curve is higher). I haven't tried, but they tell me it also works fine with Werk's version of the M.Mielke pipe, and with Novarossi 51602 pipe (this eems to be right for IFMAR-ROAR version engine).

Ron,

Thanks for the feedback. Ultimate Hobbies has the LCM.12Pro3 for 299.99. I want to verify if they have extra parts for future rebuilds before I shell out 3 bills.
By the way, do you have any feedback on the Werk's pipe for the NTC3? How does it compare to AE's dual chamber or RDLogic's pipe? Any info would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Dave
