Different crank timing, wider exhaust port. Has more bottom end and specially more top end.

hey afm,

I have a sirio s12-tup 5port turbo abc motor and was doing some reading about getting the right pipe for my motor - i currently have a team magic inline pipe set atm (101657PO 5.2mm) which i got with the car/motor setup i bought. i have tryed shortening it which helped a little but i cannot shorten it anymore

would the sirio pipe as mentioned a page or so back "Sirio S12-200006 In-line" be suitable to my engine or only for EFRA type? as i'm interested in getting the 'right' tuned pipe so as not to waste my time with an inferrior product lol

also, anyone know where you can buy the sirio collari motors that killed the nova's at the 200mm worlds? i'm sure there are not alot of happy campers out there

The Sirio pipe as you well said is suitable for 3 port EFRA tuned engines. That pipe was used by the official drivers for Kyosho / Sirio at the worlds.
Since you have a 5 port outlaw engine, you need an outlaw pipe with bigger stinger outlet diameter (6mm). Try the RD Logics Turbo II outlaw pipe.
The Collari engines are sold in the USA by www.werksracing.com
and they sell a pipe for them, which is similar to the M.Mielke pipe from Yokomo.

The sirio pipe i mention above would be all good if i got the 3port piston/sleeve for my evo2 to race with legally? cause as far as i know all state and national level events held here is still limited to 3port motors and same with worlds?

thanks again

Looks like from the setup sheets of the Kyosho drivers at the WC, the Sirio engines used was a S12 TRP-I. That's a 3 port ABC engine. Not AAC. Wonder why AAC was not used if it is more superior in power...

I don't think that's right? I'm sure they would have used the AAC version for sure.

Found out that it was because the new S12 Evo 2 TRP-I (IFMAR) World Cup Edition has a new piston/liner set Part Nš S12041223 ABC IFMAR with new timing, which has first been produced in ABC configuration, and has not been produced in AAC yet on the Sirio line of engines, but you can get them on the Collari line of engines.

What do you mean by that? The Collari engines already have the new piston/liner set Part Nš S12041223 in ABC or in AAC?

BTW, when you refer to the Collari line of engines, are you referring to Sirio Collari modified or Collari LS engines?

So the difference between the normal and the WC edition is just the piston / sleeve? What about the crankshaft?

If I were to get a normal Evo 2 and slap in the WC sleeve, that would make it WC edition? No?

The Sirio Collari line of engines has a standard engine and a Mauro Collari modified engine. This last one in the ROAR - IFMAR version comes with AAC p/s with modified porting and crank that gives you performance like the WC edition ABC TRP I , plus the special low center gravity cooling head, that is exclusive in that MC Collari engine. This engine is beeing offered by: www.werksracing.com

I am not sure yet about the crank.
As off we speak, the part number on the IFMAR crank remains the same S12081300.
In Kyoshos's Japan web site they are offering the S12 TRP I engine PNš 625015, and if you go to the parts listing, it shows the new PNš for the piston/sleeve, but the same PNš for the crank.
What my European source tells me is that Sirio will be offering the WC Edition engine replica soon....but not specifically how soon.

Default Carb Problem , Please Help Sirio 27

my sirio 27 overheated and wore out my sleeve. Had it resized then after break in the motor idles wicked sluggish and wont respond to adjusting the low needle , just idles rich and stalls out. Bought a carb o ring kit and installed and the dam motor does the same thing , like a air leak.

Went over the whole motor and can't figure it out !!!
the low needle makes no affect no matter how it's adjusted. all key parts are sealed with red silicone nice and neat too.

Update , Forgot to mention , that the carb sprays fuel out while it's idling.
I'm about ready to take this $370 motor and smash it with a hammer.

just removed the motor and took apart to make sure the sleeve was in right , and that the piston wasn't in backwards.

I'm loosing my mind , and need help.

I wish i knew what carb would replace this one ? the 25ss neck is too small and the 21ss and the ofna 26 carb is too small.

Afm,

I'm interested in the MC Collari 12 engine. My local hobby shop stocks it and the price is significantly lower than WerksRacing's price. I would appreciate any feedback on this engine.

Thanks in advance.

Be sure you are getting the Mauro Collari hand tuned engine, because Lamberto Collari Motorsport makes two versions of that engine:

LC12PRO-3E Standard AAC EFRA Turbo
LC12PRO-3E MC Mauro Collari Modified AAC Turbo

Also be sure it is the latest version with the new low center gravity head, because the first engines had the same head as a Sirio, just gold colored.

Engine is ballistic. I TQ'd and won this past weekend at our local championship. Just remember that beeing an AAC engine it needs to be warmed up properly to get the right carburation, it can be misleading when it is cold. It takes more time to warm up than a regular ABC engine. At the start of a heat it will look as if it is rich, but once on temp it rocks and runs like a mad dog.
Another thing; it loves cold plugs (7), it works best with Sirio's own pipe, and it needs to be geared at least one tooth shorter than Nova based engines (power curve is higher). I haven't tried, but they tell me it also works fine with Werk's version of the M.Mielke pipe, because i haven't seen Sirio's pipe sold in the States.
BTW, who is your LHS, and what price are they selling it to you???
