+1. Gave up on the rx8. Been running the sctpro since it came out trouble free. Drives just as smooth as the RX8 too.

A guy at the track wanted to drive my car. So we traded for 5min come to find out it was a hobbywing 150a and 1900kv 4 pole Turnigy TrackStar. Had more power and ran smoother. I run a tall gear to with some boost rx8 1900 tekin.

when in stock, the Speed Passion SAV2 offers good bang for the buck. Its a big ESC though, but works excellent.

See post #5686. and a few post after. I blew mine on the first time i had ran it. It's a pretty standard 5x11x4 bearing that any hobby shop should carry. I have replaced mine with a shielded traxxas bearing and it's still working out fine.

I am buying a new 1/8 car soon. I've been a long time Associated guy, but I like the looks and ingenuity of the Tekno car.

Why should I buy this car over a RC8.2e? I usually see a lot of the major brands shoving advertising and "sponsored" drivers down my throat, but I haven't seen this from Tekno. I kind of like that.

The Tekno buggy is designed to be an electric 1/8th buggy from the start, not the other way around like the RC8.2e. The weight distribution is all over the place on the Associated while the Tekno is very well engineered with its chassis packaging.

Secondly, the Tekno quality is much better than Associated. (I've owned an RC8T before). First and last 1/8th Associated I ever buy. Still not on the level of Xray/Mugen quality but way better than what Associated or Losi have to offer.

For me it came down to jumping and rough track stability. I own several e-1/8ths (8ight-E with both the Tekno conversion and the Losi, RC8 that has had 4 different conversion, Ofna Hyper 9E, Ofna MBXR2) and All of them had the same problem until I drove the Hyper 9E. It was the first one to have a layout that is similar to the Tekno V4 and it was much more predictable on the jumps and in the rough parts of the track. When the V4 conversion came out for the RC8, I bought it. It completely changed the way my RC8 drove. I had tried several others conversions and even some of my own on the RC8 but none drove like the V4. When Tekno came out with the EB-48 it was a natural next car for me. Basically the same V4 layout that was in their conversions with a few improvements and I didn't have to buy a nitro and throw have the stuff out. I don't have tons of track time with it, but the time I do have has been good. Very nimble, very predictable and quite a bit lighter than anything else I own. Other layouts work for other people, but for me, the V4/EB-48 layout works the best. To top it off, their customer support has been awesome. You will see that if you read through some of the pages of this thread. I don't know of any other company that actively gets user input from real world customers and not just their team drivers.

So, if you wanted an opinion, there is mine.

We'll see. I will definitely keep the EB-48 in mind for my next buggy.
