Don't do this! The solder posts on Tekin ESCs are also heat sinks. Putting heat shrink on them just insulates it and raises your temps.

I charged my battery tonight. I used 5000ma for the 12 minute main with a couple easy laps before the start.

i had an RX8 flame out on me in my SCTE when i had it servo taped to the chassis. after that i went back to the stock battery/esc tray and no problems. makes me wonder how many RX8's are going to let out the magic smoke on the new 2.0's which call for the esc to be mounted to the chassis.

We don't want to hear where the market takes us anymore lol, a company like Tekno makes the market, I'll bet on that!!!!!!!!!

To other's and yourself the new Viper VTX8 will solve them wussy RX8 issues no problem. I'm telling you this has to be the most durable ESC I'ver ever used, and I've used them all except for hobbywing.

tempurpedic servo mount tape and pretty thick.......someone could make a lot of money and save esc's.......i dont know why someone hasnt developed the ultimate esc mounting pad. i even have had rx8's go out using the kyosho zeal tape. a couple actually. it just needs a nice comfy pillow that wont move to much and not transfer energy on impact. someone make it for crying out loud!!! lol

True. But at the end of the day a 200 dollar esc from tekin should be able to hold it's own. It's there fault they use cheap ass plastic and cheap materials. Like I said check out that new viper. Awesome machine right there.

I wonder what I'm doing differently that I'm using less than everybody else. I took an extra lap after the race too, just to make sure the battery still had full kick (which it did, as you can see with the quad at the front). I had about a lap and a half of being conservative, but then went back to normal because it was screwing me up...that's not more than 1000ma though, and I'm running full weight (nothing lightened).

Tell him what car it is for and he can put a kit together and cost less than everyone else.
Thanks!! I'll check him out.

from the video I recorded, you started about 45s after me, Chris and a white car was already running when I go there.
my race lasted 12m21s, and had an extra lap after the race.
So the extra 250mah is understandable.

See know your scaring me. I put a lot of stock in that Kyosho zeal tape. Thinking my RX8 were indestructible. Looks like I'll never go for that quad quad again lol. I do think that is about the very best you can get right now, until i figure out how to shoe goo some feathers together neatly.

Is that a Blue Bird servo with a metal case?

The track in my area is very high traction. High enough that many times a pair of slicks are the best way to go for tires. The most annoying thing is the steering not centering after the servo saver is exercised. This shows up just driving up and down the street. I know it isn't my servo or radio, they have both been tested in other cars.

Wow! That is a ton of power! That is an average of around 370W!

For many years I have been using velcro with loose zip ties on all of my ESC's. Haven't lost one yet! Still have my gen 1 RX8, Mamba Max, and MMP. All of which are run in 1/8th buggies.
