Thus far with the abused Sc10 ...

Found the screws for the front tower were too long and were pushing inside the gear case rubbing the gear .

The gears were installed so the flanges were on the same side & were ground down together making for a mess.

Screws for the gears case were torque down so hard they pushed though and were rubbing the clicker pulley . The counter gear was also rubbing the gear case sides from the same screws torque to tight.
Also had to shim the top shaft so it was tight & not sliding back & forth.

Clicker was so tight ?

It was mash down and now had play so it was rubbing the side of the front gear plate ...

All spins smooth & free now .

Today the rear transmission & shocks ...

Yeah that's common at my tracks too. I often see lazy/slow marshalls too.
Your best solution is not crashing at all when possible.

Here in Brazil the marshalls are all paid kids that are not racers. I initially thought this was great cause you don't have to marshall, but you have to pay a little more for your training or race event. One event the marshalls were really bad. Sitting and not paying attention to their corners. Often not reacting until a driver started to scream. I could not believe it really. It was very frustrating to crash cause with a Nitro Buggy it will eventually quit. So for the A main I knew that I had to not crash at all. It was better to run slower that crash with these marshalls.

I consider myself a good marshall and even in Brazil I volunteered to Marshall at times. Even with that said I plan to be an even better marshall when I return to the states this summer.

lol, that probably would have been the time that particular marshall shouldn't be paid.

Seems like you have a worn gear in the chain. Are they all old?

Sometimes I have had gears that look great to the naked eye but they run like yours. I would change out gears until it goes away.

try placing a shim between the crush tube & gear or maybe a different combination .
Will be adjusting the top shaft into proper position.

Its kinda hard to tell from the video. It does look like the gears are in correct but you can double check the manual. Do your idler gear bearings spin nice and free? Do you have any gashes in the transmission case that the gear is hanging up on?

All 3 gears spin fairly freely until I put the other case half on.
Can't see any damage in case.
It felt like the lip on the idler gear is rubbing on the teeth on the diff but I couldn't shim it out.
Doing my head in!

Throwing this out there, I can't see the video behind this firewall right now but is the gear on the shaft loose?

What you are describing sounds similar to the problem I had.

Everything spins all the time until I put an idler gear in and close the case. All bearings are good. It's plastic on plastic some where.

Could you have the idler gear or diff in backwords?

I just watched the vid full screen. The idler should have a ridge on one side and the ridge side of the gear should mate with the side of the diff that has the screws. In the vid I see teeth on the screw side. Either you have the wrong idler gear or a bad gear from what I see.
