Running my SC10 4wd on a race track for the first time this weekend.
We are not actually racing it's a test and tune day to get people ready for outdoor racing.
I plan on taking my 2wd SC10 and 4wd SC10.

So, you are getting the stutter with all of your saddle packs? Are you using the same set of wires to connect them? If so, could one of your wires have a bad / loose connection?
Glitching is caused usually but a rapid lose of signal causing the ESC to reset. This can be caused by the receiver or the ESC if you do not have enough current carrying capacity. Most often you need a glitch buster capacitor for your receiver to fix this. If that is not enough you may have to jump to an external BEC. In rare cases the motor and ESC are drawing more current than the battery can delivery and the overall system voltage drops which results in a stutter or even a brown out.
Also recognize that you have added 5 oz. to your car so it is drawing more current already.
it strange though as I would think if it was a condition where a glitch capacitor on the receiver would help, he would see it consistently with a stick or saddle pack.
What kind of connectors are you using when you make your connecting from the ESC to the stick pack or the saddle pack?
For the saddle pack, if you are running a separate set of connectors off of the pack to the ESC, please state that and what kind of plugs go into the saddle pack (bullet cage style, etc).

Have to say its your battery. I will never buy protek again. Worked fine in 4x buggy, but just not in these heavy trucks.

I am using two Reedy Shorty packs 4000mAH 60C in parallel to avoid any issues. That is 8000mAH 60C so will always out deliver my motor. That is the key. Select a battery that is more capably than the ESC which should be more capable than the motor. You will always be OK with this philosophy.

Anybody looking for nice roller.... cheap? I have one in the classifieds. It has an exotek chassis, a bunch of add ons, and a ds1015 servo for $185. Check it out.....its quite a bargain. I haven't run 4 wheel anything for a long time.
Some details: has pretty much all of the FT bells and whistles except the shocks. Has the yellow springs, Exotek chassis, Exotek locked front clutch, STRC Aluminum Belt Tensioner Pulleys, STRC rear A-arm mount 2-2, Clutch basket.
