I do not think there is much a difference, only the afterwork and better selected P/S is giving the R09 better performance.

That is for the .21 (older models)
Today I have seen 0.5mm although if you are going to build up an engine 0.6 is a very good starting point for every Novarossi. The newer button heads and also the nr8 plugs makes it possible to go as low.

Hi Roelof, which do you think is right distance in a Collari Cordoba Edition? The distance without head shims is 0.35-0.4 (solder trick). Usually I use the engine at sea level. I have thought to up to 0.6, it is right? I can use this distance with OS plugs or only with new Nova plugs?
Thanks.
Thanks.

All Nova onroad engines @25% nitro can use 0.5~0.7 @sealevel. 0.6 is a good starting point using a NR plug 7 or 8. When using the 8 plug a 0.5~0.55 is possible depending if it is a long or short track....
When the engine is at high RPM the flex and play in the whole system does make the head clearance smaller that can blow plugs....
I have seen a person who did get a RB engine from a teamdriver and with running NR7 plugs he constantly blew plugs while the teamdriver running 8 plugs did not distroy them. Adding one shim of 0.1mm did sove the problem without (for him) noticeable power.
OS plugs can be used, I was told the RP8 is a good plug.

A friend give me an old, but not use, collari cordoba edition. The engine has 0,35-0,4 mm of head clearance without head shims. But!, it has 0,7 mm of head sihims so 1,05-1 mm of combustion chamber...directly of factory!! Do you thinh it is possible? When I test the engine I felt no power on low range, of course.

That is why I do not trust counting shims, probably his head has a zero gap without shims. Or maybe you were fooled with your head because sometimes there are 1 or 2 thick aluminium shims that tight giving the idea that it is a part of the button head.
For sure 1mm is to much or you must run the hot OS RP3 plugs

I can't speak for the 9.2c but I have a Virtus and that baby is a beast; and a mind you, that's in a heavy GT car. And if you don't find that engine powerful enough stock , you can always get it modified to make it just stupid fast.

Hi everybody,
We finally got our redesigned shop up and running :-)...
Still many products to come, we got a lot that's not yet inserted.
But at least the shop is running now.
Take a look: www.rc-netshop.dk
