I'm running all aluminium diffs gives it a lil extra weight and very tough too

I've wanted to try those diffs. But never heard any review on them.
Good to know they hold up.

I haven't seen the aluminum diffs you speak of are the cases aluminum if so I don't know why you would want to add weight to a drive train the lighter the better I would think, as long as it holds up of course.

Stock diff case wears great , its the .2 shims that are the wearing & the issue ...
Replace .2 shim with the new Ae shim or double up the .2 shim for better wear & tear ...

Only things I could think of to go with the alloy diff cases would be durability and better holding of the fluid assuming case flex is the cause.

I still love(sarcasm) AE for the fact that they realized there was a problem, updated the part, then didn't tell anyone publicly.

I got diff cases from Shaun a long time ago with bearings instead of bushings, they've been great. Tons of run time on them.

I ran the hotracing aluminum diffs, they are junk. The tolerances were way off.

sad to say it but lots of companies do this. Gotta love running changes. At least with AE if you contact them they will send you the right sized shims for free.

If they made an addendum section on there website specifically about this, it would be great so you could see what the running changes were, as well as updating part numbers too.

Yeah, forgot about that part. They don't even supply new part numbers. I had to order in a new rear shock tower. Suprise, old style came in.


As for the bearing diff mod. I made some the night I seen the post about them. Even took it a step farther and modified them using a lathe. They were perfect.
Sadly, they failed. The dust at our track is very fine. It gets in bearings bad.
It came to the piont where now I change my diff bearings before every event.
It's the best $4 piece of mind.

How did u use a lathe for it?
