I'm looking for some help here...

I got the FT upgrade kit all installed and ran it today for the first time. Man the truck felt great but it also felt much slower

I tweaked my rx8 and tried to get more speed out of it and nothing seemed to make a big difference. The belt seemed to be tighter than before but the drivetrain isn't bound up. I did loosen the belt up and it felt smoother but I literally didnt change anything from before. I never really felt I had a ton of speed but it seems different than before. I also added about 3.5 ounces of weight to the truck. I'm running the rx8 with the tekin pro4 4000kv with 62/15 for gearing. Thanks in advance!

Deciding to remove the 8mm mod for Qual 1 and see how the traction roll changes. Then i'll tune from there.

I'm not running too high rideheight.
Running the same laptimes as the rest.
Running same tire that everyone else is.
Maifield setup + exotek + 8mm hub.

Thinking that removing the 8mm will bring me more inline with his setup and go from there. I love the mod, but it might not be doing me any favors on this track.

I run Pro 4 4000, RX8 under stock ESC settings geared 17/58. I am so fkn fast it's unnecessary. (my 15,16t pinion is shot)
I'm also running a chassis that has been used since may when I got the truck, so it's by no means running "smooth and quiet".

Does the Car roll under it's own weight for "at least" 3 feet?
Recalibrated the RX8 with radio for good measure?
Factory default the Speedo back?

Just put back on the bk setup last night. And felt better than I remember, the best do far.

Slower where? Only on the straight?
Maybe you feel slower but you are running the same or better lap times, did you compare lap times with the old non FT setup on the same track layout?

FT kit should not affect speed or driveline drag so maybe something else is going on after your rebuild... or it feels slower but your actually turning the same or better lap times?

With a pro4 you should have a ton of speed, what are you temping at? Maybe step up one more tooth temps allowing?

RPM arms & wheel bearings. Not much more other than diff & shock refreshes.
Keep an eye on pins and such to keep the suspension moving freely. Suspension related parts is the main thing you need to keep running in top shape.
Every 6 months or so with any kit a full refresh to keep that new car smell

Pul it apart and replace what is worn. Lube (or replace) all bearings that you normally don't touch. Belt, gears... drive line stuff that may look worn. Douche cvd's & relube (goes along with drive line, replace if worn).

Just kind of tear it down and start again like it's a new kit.

Thanks Shaun...I was going to gear up but I'm not sure what I've got for spare pinions. I'm not sure if can roll under it's own weight for 3 feet, I'll try that today after work and I think it's a good idea to recalibrate and go from there.

Thanks fq06... I feel that it was slower on the straight. I also had difficulties clearing a small double that should have been easy. I'll try to see if I can compare lap times from before and see if there is a difference. Though the track has changed the layout since I had raced there( I don't get to race that often ) I think I'll try to gear up again and check the temps.
