I cant complain about my gens ace, but they dont make a good saddle. my gens ace balances well and stay balanced. and it never gets above room temp in my 4x4 when I rave. Are they best, prob not. I would test their C values, but I am unsure how to check. I can say their IR is pretty low. My icharger rates them at 3ohms for the pack. My amain packs are 8ohms. so yeah.

Hey guys, i just picked up a ft with some upgrades, gonna run a pro4 4600 and a bh 120a. Is there anything i need to be aware of with this truck? Or things to watch for? This is my first attempt at off road 4wd, so any help is beneficial.

Thanks in advance

bh120 or lt4 120? just curious. Watch your temps!!!. that motor can be hot. I would get a couple pinions. maybe a 12-14t or 11-13t. depending on your track. buy some lead weight. you can search on here about how much and where to put it. And I have never tried it, but people seem to love the rcshox v2 cdiff. read up on the 8mm mod and using front springs in the rear. try to get pack that are over 50c for that motor, maybe even 60c.

Put 5mm of shock limiting clips under the rubber bumpers on the shock shafts on the rear and 4mm on the front if they are not there already. Otherwise the cva's will contact the outdrives and mess things up. If you hear clicking under power, thicker diff shims under the sun gears and new gear set.

13/62 gearing to start.

Other than that just tune it to your liking and read through this thread for setup help.

Never puffed with a rx8 and tenshock 4 pole.
Only problem I've had is a melted case at the positive port but that was my error for going too long with a bullet and it arc'd.

If I can spend $40 on a lipo that gives me about the same performance as a $120 lipo... guess I buy cheapo.

Yeah Chris is a cheapo, but I'm the same way , actually I'm waiting for the a-spec nano's to arrive in the US warehouse which will probably be the time I start driving my sc10 4x4 again........

Its the lt4 120a. What is a good temp range, and what would be dangerously too hot? I have a few pinions already and will be picking up a couple more. I believe it has the 8mm mod done already. I have 1 60c and picking up 1 90c for it aswell.

I have zippy's and nano's from a few years ago (plane dayz) that are still going strong. If nano's are ending their life early at your track, that was pilot error.

Oldest HK lipo I have is 5 years old and performance is barely lower than when it was new. That was old lipo tech before they started making the nano's.

Too each their own
