Thanks!
Definitely give promatch a look. the price on there batteries is pretty good considering they come with a warranty which I believe is 1 year. from my experience with them back in the NIMH days, they were excellent and they stand behind there stuff. If these Hyperion 6000s I am using give up the ghost, I'd buy a set of there's in a heart beat.

I have seen the truck win on both, but I find is very hard to drive on the later. But I am not a pro, but i would have gotten a losi if i had it to do over again. Or get a RC8.2B. I see guys at my track that take crap care of their losis, use baling or the wrong tires and still finish 3rd in the mains. They are being beat by AE's, but the AE drivers are pretty fast local guys. The losi guys I am thinking of use duck tape and bubble gum to keep the trucks running and still place. They just point and shoot and keep the trigger fulled. As WC say, they just punch it everywhere.
The biggest tell at least concerning where the SC104x4 shines and where it doesn't came from one of the reps at AE saying that if they made an RC8 based one the SC104x4 would be targeted more for indoor and the RC8 based one, outdoor. Maybe its a setup issue, maybe not.

Where did you run the truck on indoor high bite?

I did watch the 2nd main, Ty didn't look as good in that one. However, Ty looked faster in the first.

Ryan had a nice run, no doubt. Ty made an early mistake and then another, that ain't gonna win squat, so it is, what it was......

Ty still held of the other ryan, so......................

yeah, cain with a lot of work i can make the truck ok, on the outdoor track. But I do feel like I am constantly chasing a setup. Unlike the b4. Cavs b4 nats setup was pretty much the same as his ifmar worlds last year. I see sc10 4x4 setups that are all over the place. Seems like everyone is searching non stop for something that works. But, I do like the concept of the truck and it is pretty darn durable. Not alum chassis to tweak. No drives shafts falling out (saw a losi do that a few times). But for me, it is really hard to drive it hard, I feel like I baby it around the track non stops. dont feel comfortable pushing it hard.

That's what I thought. On a good day ch would be medium at best, most if the time it's a low-medium. About 5 years ago we were running slicks and you could flip your car over extremely easy. It was very high bite then.

I am hopeful that AE will get a setup out there for the outdoor loose big track crowd. I think its possible, just need some big events in those conditions that AE's top drivers attend specifically to drive the SC104x4.

well ordered the coupled clutch since i needed to spend another $6 to get over on free shipping on amain lol.

even says should be here saturday, so ill try it out on sunday if the weather holds off and family stuff doesnt interfere.

i think the coupled, ht pad inside, 19t front pulley will really help this truck outdoors. i tried the exotek clutch but didnt like that it was no slip, made the truck feel very inconsistent, but still loads better then stock inside pad.

I owned both gens ace and promatch, the gens ace out performs them everytime. Promatch also shafted me when both of my packs swelled and split this spring. They had 12 charges max on each, they looked brand new. They were 11 months old, I sent him my invoice & pics and he said not under warranty but he'd give me buy one get one free. NO Thanks

Yeah, I raced CH back when we ran slicks. Well if the current CH is medium bite, then the track I run on is Low bite. Because CV has way less traction then CH.

btw, I was traction rolling my buggy at ch a months ago, lol.

great packs, not as heavy as a 6000 either, but still enough to make a 10 minute main w/ 2-3 laps practice with a 4.5/4.0.

6000 is nice if your running a high drain 4-pole motor tho. but 5200 is still enough for 7 minutes at race pace.

with all the good i have seen from turnigy i would say their new packs might be a hot ticket.

hobbyking just fails at content check, they are indeed 5600 packs.

That sucks about what happened with your promatch lipo's, however I completely disagree that the gens ace outperform them especially if your talking about the saddle packs for each one.......I've owned both as well and currently still own promatch saddle's and I've ran them back to back when we had a triple that alot of drivers had trouble clearing. With the gens ace I had to make sure I went into the turn just right and punched it at the right time in order to clear it. With the promatch I could clear it with ease. Even on straights its very noticeable which ones have more punch and I can say that its def. not the gens ace. (not saying gens ace are bad just the saddle packs def. did not perform better IMO)

Gens ace 25c simply won't cut it. Not enough burst to bring home the bacon. Maybe for practice... I have a 50c for my b4 and that is just a practice pack for me. I would do the 65c for a race but that's it. Especially with the power hungry 4x4's
Your gonna puff em quick...

So Maifield's driveline set-up is:

1) Couple slipper
2) Overdrive
3) VTS 3 pad

Questions for the thread:
1) What is needed to use the couple splipper hub? Is the 91180 Rear Top Shaft required?
2) When is it good to use overdrive? High bite tight or would it work for 8th scale tracks?
3) Is the VTS 3 pad just the VTS design or is this an added disk and pad?

I am very happy with my set-up on the 8th scale track that I am going to here in Brazil but the rear end is a little too loose. I was considering the 8mm mod and have the parts on the way but I am on a medium to low traction surface. It is 8th scale size.
