I ran Kody's setup today and the truck was dialed, layout was different so can't compare lap-times though. Truck was consistent and stable but was it better than the Rcshox/3rd part setup - short answer - no, was it worse, no, it was basically the same but less twitchy and less corner speed. All evened out in the end. There are obviously two ways to skin a cat here and both work equally well. But that begs the question - Is there a magical combination of RCshox parts and a dialed AE setup? I'm going to try and find out.

My track is a bumpy, dusty medium sized 1/8 outdoor track.
As for tires, well, 7 trucks in the 4x4 Amain and 6 different treads so as of now (track's first year) nobody knows lol.

Confusing , last time I saw someone using that set-up they had to take it all off and install the VTS back on ...

Then his truck was all good , know it was cus I tested his truck after switching back to AE ..

Default Classless drivers???

Made the 1.5 hour trek to OCRC yesterday with 3 of my racing buddies. Got there and set up in the pits,All was ok. Went out to run the first pack when we realised that the caliber of drivers there was quite low. You would have thought we were at the "Worlds" or some other huge race. This is a practice day. The biggest probelm was most were driving with blinders on. Didn't care what other vehicles or turn marshals were on the track. Rookies trying triples they had no buisness trying,Hot shots trying to drive like they were one of the Ryans. Out of 100 people, There was maybe 20 who new what the hell they were doing as far as driving goes. Then comes the turn marshall issue. Does anybody not tell these chowder heads that it is customary to marshall after you drive as if you had just finished your race???. Not to pull your tires and run to the wash basin?? REALLY, Wash your tires after each battery???. I, at 56 years of age, marshall after running. Done that since I started playing with these "Toys" As my wife calls them, 30+ years ago. Got hit in the shin while marshalling by a 2wd buggy.Looked up at the kid and said "Didn't you see me"?? I'm 6'1 - 200 lbs and I'm out here fliping your cars for you, PAY ATTENTION!!! Also had problems with the 1/8 scale buggy crowd. They drive through or over you like you don't exist! Is it just me or is the mentality of these new drivers as such that they just don't care?? NO Class?? No protocall anymore?? What the hell has happened to our sport??? Sorry for the rant but it just pisses me off that a very small percentage of the "New" R/C crowd has a clue!!!
Any thoughts on this,Lets hear it

Also how do I get more droop for the big jumps? Has anyone drilled a fourth hole on the shock tower?
rc10.com listed under SC10 4x4 FT setups, Kody's newest one.
Unscrew the shock bottom ~3 turns.

The fast guy at our track was running gridirons soft. He could run through the corners at high speeds. You could "hear" the tires biting in the corners. We race on an outdoor mix conditions track. last night it was a mix or wet and mud, lol. rained a few ours before the race and the track suffered.

Anybody fast was at WCRC for the ROAR super nationals this past weekend. OCRC is usually not amateur hour, but you got unlucky on your choice of race days.

I clean and sauce my tires after every run in OCRC type conditions, but that doesn't absolve me of turn marshaling.

Btw, I won't turn marshal 1/8 scale. At all. Ever. The drivers are discourteous, and the cars are dangerous. That's the whole reason I don't race that class.

As a marshal, your #1 responsibility is to not mess with the car on course that hasn't crashed. Im sorry to write this, but it's your fault you got hit in the shin - the driver of the 2w buggy is not responsible. The cars have the right of way to the driving line on the track, as a turn marshal it's your responsibly to get out and get back without impeding the car on course. If you can't do that safely, don't go out on the track. I know you don't see it that way, but it's true.

Hey Craig, I know protcol of the track. Remember,30+ years! I was off the race course when hit. He was out of control over the triple off the course. That driving is exactly what I was refering to. Out of control with the throttle pinned! I guess that is the norm nowdays. It was wrong for you assume I was standing in the lane when hit.

I had good luck with green slime on the o-rings and the paper seal. I smeared some of it on the plastic before putting the seal on one half, and some more on the seal itself to get both sides covered.

My truck will be up for sale in the next week or so. Motor went out and there's no point in paying $100 for a new one that I'll use for a month so I'm just building a 1/10 buggy now.
If I come back to SC it will be this truck guaranteed, just want to try something new.

Probably does have to do with the big race at wcrc, caliber of drivers, lack of marshaling, all of the above... that sucks. I drove at OC once, not as bad of a day as yours, but nothing like a day at wcrc. Really stinks your crew made the drive on a bad day but hopefully I can get out to wcrc next time your out. Has always been a good day there

Where are you at? Palm Desert area? Or Palmdale area?

Along with using green slime on all of the orings, try sanding the 4 prongs down that key into the housing. Fine paper flat on a table, just a little off to let the top tighten down on the housing a little better.
