SC10 4x4 Thread
New to the sc10 4x4. Wondering on the outdrive wobble fix, the xray shims to replace the stk ones the way to go or is there a better solution. Also is this only for the rear diff or is it needed for the front also??? What other mods are necessary to make the truck better.

AE also has updated 0.5 shims.
Prevent future wobble by limiting shock up travel with 5mm of shock clips f&r..

if you have the old Red AMB then the best spot is on top of the top plate above the servo, or just ontop of your RX like BK does.

If you can get the new Ae .5 shim kit...
or
you can also use
2 x .2mm of the large shims under each sungear & remove the small outdrive 2mm shim & assemble ....( works great )
*Do both the ft & back diff's same way
*Remember to install .8mm external limiter on shock shafts to help protect outdrive cups from CVA bash....
Other mods ?
Team upgrade kit # 91174
#1 upgrade
Cain , under stand completely your view and sorry for the only use "Ae" tune .
That part is a very good part & its performance is great .
More than I say for some of the other aftermarket parts you can buy .
Even have two teammates using .....
it all depends on your track and how deep the loop is buried, and how sensetive their system is set.....
we had a guy that was missing every 2nd or 3rd lap because his transponder was set on top of the center diff on a slosi.....but everyone else was good.

I doubt the shims alone will fix the wobble, as the bushings are what wear out.. I did the bearing mod and there's almost no wobble now.
If you start out with
new diff cases &
the 2 extra shims & including the external shock limiters ?
The out drive cups stay snug & less slop with wear...
no real need to mod the diff cases, not diss the mod , just saying ...

arggggh !
so as some know im going to the sc nats. ive been redoing my truck and so on. following their rules to a "T".
then i read on their FB page just a bit ago that you can not cut holes in the windows or any unmarked area on the body. this was posted by one of the track guys...
BUT.. on their rule file download (the one ive been going by) it says no such thing and guess what i did to a brand new body ? yup cut holes in the window... and in the rear.
i copied and pasted their rules on that comment and im waiting to hear back from them. it ticks me off a bit...
sorry for the rant.
