SC10 4x4 Thread
Don't know the weight distribution but I would think it's pretty close to 50/50. I couldn't believe how light it was when I threw it on the scale though, this is my first R/C car to be underweight. I plan on picking up 4 little scales at Harbor Freight sometime this week so I'll know the distribution pretty soon.

It was actually a lot easier than I thought it would be. I held the outdrive on my bench with pliers and used my hand drill with the grinding bits. I did go through 2 grinding bits to do all 4 outdrives but they're pretty cheap so not a big deal. I also ground down the overall length of the outdrive, the bones are nowhere near falling out at full droop so it's completely safe.

Which Harbor Freight scales, or other scales work well?

When you are at the hobby shop, if you don't have 4 spare ball stud spacers... pick some up.
You will want to space out the cover so the spur gear does not contact it.

Got my FT truck to the track for the first time to give it it's shakedown run. I'm really pleased. but had some things poke their head out.
While at the track I shimmed the rear diff since I had clicking under heavy acceleration. I added one of the shims under each of the big gears. That seemed to work pretty well, but it seems I now have clicking from the front diff? I've got the clicker set so it's "locked" If I tighten it all the way, it doesn't allow the front wheels to spin at all.
After doing the rear diff, getting it all back together, I noticed my belt tunnel seems crooked?
Any suggestions?

I purchased the new updated gear cover from A-main & with a 62 tooth spur it rubbed a ton. It may clear with a smaller spur but I just re-installed my original/V1 cover that I super glued some washers to.
SouthernFried, are you running a smaller spur with yours since it clears?

I opened it up to verify. I'm running 32p 12t pinion and the 62t v2 center diff spur. Using it with the newest cover AE has and it clears no prob. I just checked the spur and the cover,, no signs of rubbing.
Wait, my bad.. it's a 60t spur... So I'm runnin 12/60 32p.. This is the size I received with my Center diff purchase. The 62 very well may be too big, even with the updated cover. Sorry for the f'up..
Any thoughts on the Exotech Locked Front Clutch? I was looking at it and it seems like it would make the truck better in the air as well as eliminate a lot of the excess slipper pad issues. Any one tried it or have any input, much appreciated.
10-4 SouthernFried. I'm running a 62 tooth 32 pitch spur & it was a no go. But it's good to know it'll clear the 60 tooth spur.
Thanks
