SC10 4x4 Thread
[QUOTE=MantisWorx;10755329]Post your setup, all of us can agree that out of the box the truck is a handful but with a few simple mods it can be a demon. 2 stage pistons and Garodisc along with a front end alignment will change your world. 1*toe in, 0camber 5mm inside camber link spacers and give it another try.
Here is my set up.
Front suspension.
running option rack back position.
2.2 front swaybar
-1 deg camber
0deg toe
outside hole front camber link 2mm washer
20 tooth standard pulley
24mm ride height
front shock position middle tower outside arm
front shock yellow spring 1.2mm piston 32.5wt no rebound emulsion shock end un screwed 2 turns.
8mm up travel limited
20,000 front diff fluid
rear suspension
medium wheel base
2.0 rear swaybar
-1 deg camber
24mm ride height
3-2 toe block
camber link mod 7mm inside on tower and middle on hub
rear shock position middle on tower and inside on arm
20 tooth standard rear pulley
slipper de-coupled
8mm up travel limited
rear shocks yellow springs 30wt 1.2mm pistons no rebound emulsion
7000 rear diff fluid
I'm running the FT kit with saddle pack. I have 1oz on each side of the battery 1oz in front of battery and 1/2 oz next to gear cover. Also running a tekin 550 5.5 motor and LRP sxx tc speedo. I'm geared at 14th pinion and 62 spur wit no heat problems I feel I could go 15th pinion with no problem.
any help would be great.

Has anyone shimmed the diffs an extra .4, double stock shims, for an extended period? I just bought two new diffs and doubled up the shims and they felt pretty good. Takes out any wobble of the outdrives and free movement. Doesn't seem tight at all but I don't wanna destroy the new gears.

To add to the above few posts, start off in the beginner class. Even if you have been bashing for a while, the track requires much smoother and precise driving to turn fast laps.
You will bump up in classes as you progress. First few times at a track and you will be dead last unless you are in the beginner class.
Add 3 pillow ball spacers in the rear.
Go to a 13/62 gear.
-1 camber to zero camber, never positive.
Outdoor I run the rear shock in the inside hole on the a arm, handles bumps better.
Taller ride height will help with a bumpy blown out outdoor track and will also raise the CG making the truck roll more giving you more traction.

Ok all. I have been all over this thread since it was launched. I purchased the initial kit back in January last year and did many of the suggested mods to protect the diffs and improve the slipper. I tried the G-disks with the stock slipper and recently got the FT upgrade kit and I am not happy with the performance of a slipper at all. I kept my Jammin as a comparison and on outdoor tracks the Jammin SCRT10 is still a better truck. I love the handling characteristics of the SC10 4x4 better but I just am not liking the drivetrain. I am considering the V2 ball diff but another idea has come to mind. Since I am in Brazil for a long time and don't want to try to ship the V2, I am planning a merger between what is best of the Jammin and the SC10. The suspension of the SC10 is much wider and more durable. The Jammin's driveline has performed much better than the belt drive for me so I want to install the SC10 suspension on the Jammin driveline. I have a plan and will show pics on here. I love AE kits but I need a more convensional driveline much like many have said on this and other threads.
Well on a big outdoor track the Losi is going to dominate..but you can make your SC10 competitive..one..don't waist your money on 2 stage pistons..they don't work..to all you fanboys..
..go to emulsion shocks.. get rid of the bladders, raise the rear camber links (inside)..it should give you more rear traction..raise your ride height (on a high traction indoor track I'm at 24mm) I would try 27mm, on my Losi the magic number is 28mm..so 21mm is way to low, to me you were undergeared..I'm at 13/62 on a small indoor track..might want to go up..check motor temps..

Dont hate if for some reason they dont work for you, that is a YOU problem not an US problem.
Put your money where your mouth is and prove that they dont work instead of basing your opinion on something you know nothing about.I suppose the cdif "doesnt" work either........
As i look over your post pretty much everything you say is WRONG!! 27mm ride height on an SC10?? WRONG you dont compare a heavy azz losi to and SC10 and figure to make it run like a Losi set it up like a losi??
13/62?? everyone that is knowledgable knows that you dont run pinions that small just because its a small track. Running a BL motor with a pinon that small can overheat due to over spinning but i guess you already knew that.....

I only have a 60t spur for my V2 Center Diff from RCShox, so that's what I have to work with right now. I can order a 62 from Mantis when I get a chance. I have a 15t pinion that I can put on there making it 15/60. What do you think about a 15t? I do have a temp gun so I can test it after a 5 min practice session. You don't want anything higher than 160, correct?
I forgot how the smaller spur changes gearing... Makes it faster right?
If smaller spur is lower top speed, then 15 sounds about right, but someone will probably post the math and tell you.
Are you saying $5 to Brazil? I mean South America. doesnt matter where , its first class shipping in an envelope tracked and insured is 16.00
Can you say that the V2 ball diff will provide performance like an 8th scale buggy? My Jammin has an 8th scale body on it and runs fantastic now.

But honestly Mantis your wasting your time with him, hes going to continue to try and bash your products as well as the SC10, trust me....... I seriously don't see how anyone can sit here and say something doesn't work if you haven't even tried it...... Even if you do and it doesn't work for you does not mean it doesn't work for others.

I agree with you in that how can you doubt something you have never tried?

Hey guys, just wanted to share my experience with the V2 Center Diff. Finally got to test it today after the weather has kept me indoors for about a 2 weeks. Just wanted to say that this is the real deal. Truck was very consistent in the power delivery and is way better than the factory team VTS. Great job RC Shox
About the other comments made about this truck, the truth is, it isn't for everyone. In my case, it fits my driving style perfectly. I previously had the Losi and it just wasn't for me. It's not a bad truck and I would never bash it, it just wasn't my style. At the end of the day all of the trucks on the market are good and competitive. Each have their strong points and issues that need to be addressed. I have yet to find a truck/buggy that anyone runs out of the box. Everyone is always chasing the right setup. The man behind the wheel is the one that will always be the main variable.
