I purchased the Ackbar from Mantis and it helped me a ton with steering. I originally started with the back hole and I found I didn't have enough turning. I couldn't make a tight 180 degree turn that I had for turn 2 on my local track. So I bumped it up to the 2nd from the front hole and it was perfect. Enough throw to get thru all corners but still tamed the steering. I use a Savox 1257 servo if that helps you any. I'd highly recommend getting one for this truck.

Default Need help?

I just finished tearing down and rebuilding my truck. Everything seems great EXCEPT, my servo horn and/or steering link bumps the bottom of the from belt cover. It doesn't seem to restrict the steering, but the bump/scrub causes the belt cover to move up slightly. Is this normal? I never noticed it before rebuilding.

I do not have that issue personally. I think you should look into your rebuild a bit before shrugging it off.

Oh not going to shrug it off. It rubs too much. Only difference was I installed a Exotek chassis and new front and rear chassis pieces. Been going over it 2 hours before asking on The forum...... Pulling my hair out.

I had this same issue from the get go. It didn't hit that much so I just removed a bit off the belt cover plastic with an exacto knife.

Yeah, this shouldn't be.

Loosen the screws that hold the servo to the mount, drop the servo as low as it will go and re-tighten. I had one car just barely touch the belt tunnel like that a while ago and this fixed it. Not sure if you have the exact same issue, but worth a shot.

It sounds like you need to re-position your servo. Moving it forward, or back depending on where it's hitting, should fix the problem.

Coyote, Here are a few pics.

Krio, are you talking about the screws on the top brace that holds the servo brackets or the screws on the brackets that attach to the servo?

The servo horn is hitting behind the notch in the belt cover. I used the aliment tool. So you suggest moving the servo forward?

Screws on the bracket that hold the servo on. Looking at your picture it looks like you have rubber grommets on the servo tabs, so you might have to remove those to get the same result I did.

OK, I will try that moving it down. I have always had the rubber grommets on the servo tho.
