SC10 4x4 Thread
On that note it looks like i can squeeze and idler gear in there at least good enough for testing. Will try and make it tonight so i can test tomorrow but my workload is really high right now. SAturday may end up working better for me.
looking forward to your reports on how it works out for you.
So i got a question not on the jumping issues.
Do people still run the 550 sized motors or is everyone going to the 540 pole setups?
If so, what advantages are you seeing?

The Tekin pro4 is simply the best motor i have ever used, super smooth and instant tq whenever you need it. VERY durable and can withstand over 200* if need be. I havent come across a 550 that has anywhere near the Tq and hp(at the same time) of either my 4k or 4.6k pro4's. Tekin got it right with this one! JMHO
this may be true but the Serpent and Mugen versions are coming soon.......

I actually agree with Coyote on this one, yes the bickering may be a bit much BUT the root of this is trying to figure out how to fix a known problem that everyone sees except for WC. It was back on track until.......
Murky if you notice, there is a pattern to this and i have asked WC to stop a few times but for some reason he will not. So once again........WC stop, if you leave my name out of your mouth i will say nothing to you or about you.
Murk , my apologies.

I only gave the advise you needed ...
Chris,
Been running the SC10 4X4 off-n-on between Sedan Onroad series just to hone m driving skills. Finally got it back out on the track yesterday and added limiters in the rear shocks (droop is my friend in onroad so i firgured i'd give it a shot) and this thing drives like a dream!! (on-road driver loving the way this offroader handles )
that being said, i am a lil baffled on what adjustments i should make to the truck to control pitch in the air of off jumps.. what would i chnge and in which direction to , lets say, make the nose dive more and/or vice-versa? is there a 'rule of thumb' on such adustment?
thanks

I have two Factory Serpent guys i sponser and two Factory Mugen guys i also sponser. Not sure on the eta for Serpent but the Mugen guys say protos are already on the track and they expect theirs in a couple of months from what he told me the Mugen trucks are just basically ebuggies with a few minor changes. Unless i manage to fix this issue our best chance will be to pray for them to dump!!

Thats the issue we are trying to fix, in offroad braking in the air will easily bring the nose down and stabbing the throttle should bring the nose up. But this truck seems to fight both. There really is nothing you can adjust to fix this, just the way the truck is...for now!
My current setup gets around swell, im just curious about if i wanted to add or take away. i have a good feeling its there, just not sure what it is..
I finally got to run my truck last Saturday. Most of the FT parts except I didn't have a saddle pack in the truck and I had a clutch basket in it.
I set overall track record with the truck on the second run on the clock. Even faster than the local 4WD mod cars.
The track is extremely small - 60x24 or so. Having the clicker in the front was very handy to get around the super tight hairpins. Using a 4.5/550 motor on that layout wasn't advisable, but it worked.
The truck's off to a good start! This Saturday I'll be running it on a larger track, so we'll see how it does there.
