Temps never went over 160 on the motor and the fan on my RX8 had turned off by the time I came down off the driver's stand, even after a full 15 minutes of race-pace practice. This was before I got my garodisks so if you've got garos or a clutch basket, I don't know if this will be a great comparison.

Oh, and all season long, I never had a problem with the Novak pinions. It's the one thing that I have bought from Novak with zero regrets.
Thanks. I figured with the spur being plastic, it shouldn't be an issue.

Whelp, DE racing didn't think those Guards through very well.

They rub like crazy and stop suspension travel, along with not being able to use the lock nut on the outside Rear Carrier bolt because the bolt's not long enough for it.

Disapointed. Now I have to start sanding and dremeling to fix it.

Edit: I correct: These DE mud guards will not work with RPM arms without modification.

I'm putting on Stockers, honestly.

The guard is so thin I can't make it any thinner, and the set matches perfectly up to a stock arm. They did a great job with them, but the "smooth" barrel look of the RPMs and the fact they are beef'ier throws the guard just past the back half of the chassis and it catches way more than i'm comfortable running with.

Really, the only way " I " see is to slim the front of the A-arms down the 1mm down the whole face to let the guard seat in a bit. I'll do it in a bit, but for now, i'm just geting lazy.

Edit: Holy shit... My Front Stock arms are so warped, I can't even 'try' and get the shaft through both holes of the A-arm. "that" bad.

Gotta save some cash? MMP with an SC4x 5.5T. My buddy's been running that for a while and it's been good. I prefer my RX8....been dreaming about getting an iX8 but I'm reading there are problems with the LVD running on just 2S (It's really geared towards 8th scale, so 3-5S....maybe the next firmware will fix it....)
Yes, LRP is in the process of a firm ware update for 2s. Guy I know is running 2x 2s (both on the bottom of chassis similar to the new serpent 1/8 e buggy's setup) and an iX8 and WOW!!!! I'm gonna get one when they fix the 2s problem.

I have a set and they fit the stock arms prefect. I like to run a small amount of grease on the CV joints and these really help keep the dirt and dust off the shock and out of my greasy CV's.

About 3 races and 15 days of practice.

Random and possibly dumb question but ur truck looks clean. Do you run the truck without the belt cover?

If you don't have wobbly diff outdrives then you are lucky. All the sc104x4 diff out drives I've seen have a lot of slop and play. They eventually lead to leaky diffs. Check your diff fluid I there is a good chance they leak after 10 runs

I recomend taking them out once a race day and inspecting them. The RPM ones are no better insofar as warping...

Inspected the rears after removing them. and they are damn near perfect. I'll check the fronts tomorrow. Amazing amount of warp on those stock fronts though. Wow.

Yes, I clean my stuff every run and take things apart after every race. Part of being sponsored to me is keeping my stuff clean so their products look good.

I do not run the belt or gear cover. Weight savings is about 1.8oz and it is a high weight on the chassis. The indoor clay tracks I race on are pretty clean (little dust) so it is not an issue. I will run it on the outdoor tracks though.

My first ones warped bad and pretty quick. My second set I replaced from slop and they were straight. The big thing is to keep the truck off the wheels when not running it.
