try some electrical cleaner in the port of the ESC and Motor? It does sound like it's trying to orient to the poles.

Have you tried checking if you are running the most current firmware for your MMP? Maybe you can try the Caste Creations thread to see if there's a version of firmware that is most stable.
When I had a MMP id occasionally have to roll back to the previous firmware version and then re-install the current one to get it to run glitch free.

If you have extra cash id shell out for the Tekin. I cant recommend enough how well the RX8 works well with the Pro4.

My truck will be here Wednesday! I am pretty excited as this will be my first 4wd SCT. Now, I just have to ramble through and figure out which electronics I need. Has anyone heard or seen much about the new Viper VX4 system?

I'm not going to pay for an RX8 when I have two MMP's etc. I admit their superiority but until these go poof, I'm not buying more.

I updated the firmware as one of my troubleshoots, forgot to mention that. I'll check the thread for a safe version for this. Maybe someone's had this problem.

Edit: Now all of a sudden, if I hold down power, it'll mechanically tweak at me, then spin right up without hand kicking it over. this damn thing is crazy. I don't get it.
~So if I move the rotor just a little bit to either side it will "catch" when I power on and spin, then I remove the throttle and try again and it will glitch at me... then I twitch the rotor again in either direction, stop andthrottle it'll spin back up nicely. It's like there's DEAD SPOTS in the motor where it won't catch and spin up. But that seems so odd. (if you guys know cars at all, it's like moving the pistons and firing up the engine and it oddly starts)

I don't think a single person has asked that question about the Vipers. You're in new territory, Hpl!

Yes, in smart sense, I run the same with my 1/8th scale with a 1400kv tekin on 6s.

First off everyone please back off of Coyote, we obviously have our differences of opinion on things but there is no need for name calling and all of that nonsense. lets just move on pleeeeeeeese!!

I have been a the track all day wearing the losi's out!! still trying some different piston settings with some good success, will try on a rough track this weekend before i spill the beans! But it goes along the lines of softening the hard pack a bit.

someone a few pages back asked for a link to my vids:
http://www.youtube.com/user/Mantisworx?feature=mhee

I also read about trying an overdrive front pulley with the center dif, the answer is that i dont know!! but as it stands now you already get an overdrive effect that goes away on decel. someone try it and see how it goes!

SCT dan, control traction rolling with sway bars and roll centers , not oil/springs. Yes oil/springs can help the problem but you would be pulling performance away from the rest of the track. its a fine line between traction rolling and not so its usually a very minor adjustment to get rid of it. 'I would not go lighter than 25 in the front with yellow springs, you can get away with 20 and blue springs if need be.

RCjunky, i cant keep the difs on the shelf! they sell as fast as i can make them, i suggest ordering yours asap, right now i can get it shipped within a week after your order, sometimes faster depending on the "wave". My laser machine is due to arrive tuesday so i am going to spend thu/fri acquainting myself with her. And probably the first product i will make is spur gears, since they are whats holding me up!! i have drained just about evey supplier over the last few weeks!

Coyote, you either have an iffy ESC or unfortunately motor. simply wire up another motor and see if you are having the same symptoms. but if you say that you are barely twisting the shaft and it spins it sounds like you have a bad sensor board in the motor.............

Well: Those are sensoreless.

I have a Redline 7.5 540 I can solder up, I just really didn't want to.

15 minutes before my problem, my Sensoreless Castle 1410 worked. I'll solder on my other new motor. /sadpanda

For real comments like that make people choose sides. Don't remeber hearing much good advice out of BugMan.

If that one works, then this is what is probably wrong with it, http://www.amainhobbies.com/product_...ro4-Sensor-PCB, being a new motor, I'm sure tekin will take care of you.
