they are probably my #1 most frustrating problem in nitro. If i suspect an air leak, as i suspect you may, I first wrap zip ties (tiny ones) around all of fuel line...

I use good ole WD mostly to clean it. dirt cakes on it afterwords, but its a 5 second process to clean it off with the air compressor. the WD makes dirt stick to it, but its really easy to blow off.

I use the losi directional rib up front. Honestly, they handle as well as std ribs only they seem to bit a bit better when its dry and loose (i.e. sandy or silty).
