Trinity D4 17.5

Not sure on that really,
I know a few racers that have ran a 17.5 in a wheeler, but that was for one race event. No idea what gearing they went with either. Most racers I know that run 17.5 2wd run 13.5 4wd for stock buggy racing, which is what I usually run myself. That seems to be the norm for the stock buggy classes for the most part (at least for the general area/region/tracks I usually run at). Only race event I know of that does have a 17.5 4wd buggy class is the OCRC Stock Nationals I believe. Might be other places that have that class, but I'm going to say I think that would be more of the exception vs. the norm.

Let me see if I can find some info on that.
Do you run a fan on the motor? I'm betting you'd almost have to in a wheeler.

I'm from New Zealand, i run the 17.5 short stack version in my losi 22-4 and 22 2.0. our races are 6 minutes + final lap, i run it around the same gear ratio and timing in both ( around a 5.5 FDR and 58 motor timing). I do run a fan with it as it does get hot, but have been running this set up for about 6 months now with no issues. If you visit countiesrc.co.nz you can see the type of track i run on and lap times in the race results

Ok cool. Yeah im running a WTF windy fan but it still heats up so much what spur pinion are you using exactly BKH ?
And do you think you are loosing punch due to the heat of the motor towards the end of your races ?
My car pretty much dies on the last lap of a 5 minute race man it has cost me some wins lol

[QUOTE=RC*PHREAK;14144537]buy a new sensor board?
I did that as soon as the issue happened. Still, for 50 dollars more I'm wondering if the certified motors are worth it. After I replace the sensor, I still have to buy another motor for my sc5m, so I was gonna put the rebuild in my sc and possibly a certified or normal d4 back in my yokomo.
