I don't think they are going to support the C1 receivers in the future.
Consider the cost of the newer receivers before making your decision. You might be better off with the 4PX in the long run. |
Futaba 4PX
I have owned the 4PX for about 3 weeks. All went well for the first 2 weeks. I then had an ESC fail. I had to install a new ESC and motor and have had issues since. Initially had to rebind each time I turned off the ESC. I then updated firmware to 1.1e. All seemed good for a day. Next day there was no connection between 4PX and receiever 304SB and I could not rebind. Changed to another new ESC. Still no bind. New 204SB receiver, no bind.
I then changed transmitter and receiver to on old one (not Futaba) and all worked. I then put the Futaba back on and redid the firmware update using a different microsim. Still no bind. I sent an email to Futaba techs who said they hadn't heard of the issue before and want me to send it to them in the US (I am in AUS). What is frustrating me is that I have read on this forum that several others have had the same issue, but have not heard a resolution for the receivers not binding, nor have I read any follow up on this. I love the transmitter, but really want it to work. If not, any suggestions on a good transmitter that I can swap to left handed drive would be appreciated. Thanks |
Make sure the 4PX is close to the receiver when you attempt to bind and that the correct receiver type is selected in the 4PX.

I have been trying to bind with the transmitter and receiver right next to each other. I have also been using the correct method for binding. Please note that I did get the tx and rx to bind a number of times in the past, however it no longer works.
I also tried binding using 3 different model position in the 4PX, all with no change. |
For that model try binding to another receiver, this will change the receiver ID if successful, then try and bind to your original receiver.

If this works, try re binding to the original Model in the 4PX. Keep us posted. |
I tried both suggestions above. Still nothing. I'm sending it back to the distributor today. Sadly I won't have it for this weekends racing and will have to go back to controlling a right handed radio.

new 4px user
I just installed my 4px into my truck. after I calibrated it when I hit the throttle it will slow down but not stop until I hit the brakes. any settings I should look at on the radio? tia. I also asked the same question in the tekin rx8 gen 2 section also

I really hope I don't run into any of these problems everybody having. Just got mine and couldn't be happier. Works with everything and VRC. Linked to 2 2104's with no problems. Linking to the 304, I had to have the tx and Rx almost on each other for it to bind. Had me nervous. I put the bottom of the radio under the buggy and did it. Hope all works out for you guys and its a simple thing everyone is overlooking. Mine had the latest update installed out of the box if that would make a difference.

Does anybody use the Hudy radio case for their 4px? I was wondering how it's fits? Also if it's the compact or large bag? I am tires of waiting on the Protek from Amain.

I might just order the PKSR insert and be done with it |

I finally ordered one and my 4PX is on its way... I hate waiting for shipping...
Does it come with batteries? |
No and you will want to ditch the AA batteries right away. I put brand new batteries in mine and they were dead before I had the steering trims set. Multiple people I know that have this radio had the exact same experience. Get the rechargeable battery from a 4pksr or a life pack. Otherwise you'll need a new set of batteries for every run.
