Used my 4px for the first time this past weekend. Ran Nitro Truggy, ebuggy and SCT. 2 qualifying heats each and 1 main each without any problems. Was using a life battery, forgot to check the voltage after the last race. The only thing I'll be doing to the radio is making the trigger a little smaller.

He said it's working fine and continued using it the rest of the race day. What are the disadvantages of using LiPo?

The higher voltage of LiPo on the 4pk caused failures. I definitely don't want to try it on my brand new 4px unless Futaba says its rated for it;)

Has anyone experienced braking issues with their Futaba radios historically?

Ive got the below issue and my LHS reckons that it must be the settings on my 4PX, nothing to do with the motor/rotor..

After installing a new 6.5t motor on my B5M I found that I had minimal braking power. I mean that near the end of the back straight after applying full brakes it would take about about 3-5 meters to slow down enough to turn the corner. (had a few run-ins with the wall that night)

I have completed the following troubleshooting but still have the same problem.

- Re calibrated esc multiple times
- Reset all data on my TX then re calibrated esc
- Turned brakes EXP up to max
- Replaced lrp fwt esc with brand new novak gt3 esc
- Replaced motor with 8.5t used only a few times
- Replaced sensor cable with new cable
- Tested my TX with my B44.2 which has exact same esc and motor...brakes are LEATHAL as expected.

After doing all this I still have very minimal brakes and its driving me crazy.

Any / all advice welcome!

never had a braking issues with my 4px or 4pksr or 3pk or 3pj

try the motor in the b44, sometimes some motors have less brakes even same brand same turn

We've got a case!

For $109 it better be pretty sweet. Blue trim lights or something that kick on when you open the case.

$109. Futaba is more and more on crack for every new release. Amain universal with 4px foam for ~$60 before coupon sounds much better to me.

Tower ALWAYS lists there prices high before the product actually shows up. But I agree the protek is the way to go. Already have my case just waiting for the foam insert to show up.

Did you try to calibrate the radio? System menu -> calibrate -> calibrate trigger.

Yep, noticed that about Tower. For the 4PX case though it is listed below the retail price which lead me to believe it might actually be $109. Hope I am wrong.

BTW, Tower now has $60 in e-cash to be earned for SSC members. Combined with coupon that's a good bit off the $550 price tag. No clue it the radio is still $540 or not for SSC members.

Comparing the 4PKSR case and the 4PX retail price, the 4PX is a bit higher. Might just be safe to say the Futaba case will be $95-100 when its released.

Oh well, we'll see. I may go for the Protek box.

I kept my ProTek case from my 4pks and it fits good. I sold my aluminum case and bought the ProTek case because I didn't want to bang and scratch up such a nice case...ha

I keep mine in my old 4pks case, it fits snug enough for me to not justify a new case at this point
