Just need to work on getting my own track (like someone I know).

8 years is great! Futaba is rock solid. I hope to get 8-10yrs out of my 4PKS-R as well. I was a little hesitant to buy the 4PX last Fall since it was so new; I took the 'safe' route of going with the matured 4PKS-R this time as it was my first real 2.4GHz since my hiatus. I still have and use on almost a daily basis my ZPCM (FM) R1-Pro I got back 17-18yrs ago. :D It's still in like-new condition.

Sadakachi, ...how the heck did you get 500+ posts in like 4 months of being on this site? I've been on for 5+ years and only have 500 posts!!

 Yeah, I'm a postwhore. Sorry, I hope you guys don't mind. I do try to bring value to the forums by contributing whatever I know.

On my 4PKS-R, there is a DELAY feature where you can slow down the trigger pull signal output to your receiver. While the throttle curve and Expo helps, the delay feature was a big improvement for me for a peaky motor/car I have. You can set it in the throttle pull range too. It is quite awesome. I am sure the 4PX has it too.

I downloaded the 4PX manual. Check page 63 "Throttle Speed" and "Throttle Servo Delay". Hope it helps.

You should update to 1.2 if it is not at least 1.1

but just saw that you can get it for $450!

go to Tower, type in "ws3103"
then use coupon code: "410xy"

I have a 4pks-r with a bunch of receivers. I was wondering if the FAAST receivers are just as good as the FHSS-t receivers that come with the 4PX? I want to upgrade my radio but would prefer not to buy a bunch of new receivers if it's not necessary. What are people's experiences?

FAAST are better then FHSS-T THAT'S WHY they are more expensive

Yep, the receivers you currently own is the hidden cost w/ a radio upgrade. I never got the 4PKS for this reason, ..when I saw that the 4px could handle so many receiver types I knew it was time.

Not sure the answer to your question, ...

with the 4PX, the T-FHSS recv are faster than FASST

BUT the FASST will work exactly the same, speed etc, as they did in your previous radio, you will just get the much better smoother pots in the 4px etc

we have been over this and over this

the tech for FASST is probably better BUT for the 4PX the T-FHSS ARE faster. I own and have tried all three recv types in my 4PX and can see my car turning in earlier with the T-FHSS

I run the R304SBE in most of my cars, my backup usgt and backup F1 have 614ff-e

no issues at any 1/10 track with either

Do you have a bunch of 603 receivers? 4px is compatible with certain FASST receivers like the 604 and 614, but not compatible with the 603 line. I can't really tell the difference when I run a FASST receiver versus a FHSS receiver.

no just 604/614f receivers. I wonder how much I could get for my 4pks-r transmitter only?!

Yup, you should be fine using your 604/614 receivers. I honestly can't tell the difference between FASST and FHSS. Some people say they can tell the difference in response, but it is very subtle at best.
