Even if all are on FHSS, I cannot use a Spektrum or Sanwa RX with a Futaba radio!

Until the day the receivers are 100% interchangeable between brands and act like a commodity, please don't bring the Beta vs VHS argument into the picture.

Thank you.

Hahaha. Tell me you're kidding dude?

Im a little confused about the receivers for this. Is the max range for all of them 70m?

Pintopint 08-20-2014 02:18 PM

Not for the standard version, the built-in antenna version is for electric cars and limited to 70M (RS304B-E).

cplus 08-20-2014 03:43 PM

And it comes with a $10 saving :D

nexxus 08-20-2014 05:35 PM

I tried the R304SBE in a Tamiya FF03 over the weekend and I still had full control past 100m but best to underestimate range than overestimate I guess

FullMetalGrave 08-21-2014 09:29 AM

So when this is released I would want the standard version, not the E version so I can have maximum range?

JayL 08-21-2014 10:23 AM

If your car can get more than 230feet away from you on the track, like a MASSIVE nitro track, then yes don't get the -E

I'm really disappointed that this new radio won't use the fasst C1 stuff (I've still got 4 of these that work well). Wonder if the 604FS will still work as its C2 but not listed?

I was planning to buy the radio but spending another $4-600 on receivers will be a deal breaker for me as I've got 8 or 9 today that are a mix of 603, 604, and 614's. I have never tried the FHSS stuff but have not had good experiences with spektrum so would prefer to stay away from that technology.

Wait a minute!

There's different versions of the Radio or different versions of the same radio but that come with different standard and E-receivers?

R604FS is a no go, I sold all my Fasst rx's and got $40-$70 ea on them ($40 on R603/4, $60 on 614FF and $70 on 614FS) and then bought up R304SB at $50-$60 ea brand new.

Easiest way to do it.

4PX officially arrived in Hong Kong. Got mine. Preliminary feeling is that it is light and a little top heavy on hand, maybe due to the Li-Fe battery at the bottom. Changing to drop down steering was a bit tricky, with 3 cables to pull and a sticky steering pod nearly sheered off my thumb nail... While the color display looks cool (and I still wonder how the screen would behave under the sun), I could not understand why Futaba did not make it touch screen when even devices under $100 are touch screen enabled...thumbing though the joystick is clumber-some, a toggle wheel would speed up things...at street price of about $530 with two receivers, I expect a little more
