Thank you!

7PX would indicate a seven channel radio. Why you need 7 channels for a car is beyond me but okay.

4PX software upgrade?

Mine is less than a month old. NO reason to upgrade. My 4PX is a better radio than I'll ever be as a driver.

What failsafe settings do you guys set for low voltage rx packs?

I am running a Lipo 2s receiver pack in my nitro car and wanted to know what minimum voltage you set before failsafe kicks in? It is only a 950mah rx pack which should just be enough for a 30min final, hence why I wanted to "stretch" the operating time with the voltage adjustment before failsafe comes in.

Thanks

The body & switches look like it's straight from the 4PV, not the current 4PX.

Hoping for some guidance, not sure how to troubleshoot or where my problem lies.

I run a 2WD and a 4WD buggy on a 4PX, they have Reedy 1206 and 1408 servos in them. When I twist my transmitter steering wheel and release, the servos never really return to full center. I've tried them on digital and analog settings and neither setting corrects the problem.

Any ideas on what the issue might be? Any help would be greatly appreciated, thank you.

Thanks for the link, that seems to be pointing more to a mechanical issue. I think my problem seems more like a signal or servo issue.

Servos and 4px are pretty new. I recalibrated the radio and no change. To clarify, Sometimes when I turn the transmitter wheel slightly and release the servo will return to center, but seems like when I do a full lock turn and release it won't return to center.

Check wheter your rubber/foam steering band stays put
Sometimes it gets pushed back and limits correct steering return

Thanks - I tacked / glued my foam wheel so that does not appear to be the culprit.

Any other suggestions from the group?

This (to me) seems like a signal issue. Or potentially something mechanical in the wheel is fetching up. I did install the wheel offset bracket to drop the wheel, are there maybe any common things I could have botched there?

you are looking only at the servo arm position when you say it doesn't center right? Not the position of the wheels?

I would focus on making sure the servo returns to center(ignoring the wheels) From the servo to the wheels, you have steering rack bearings, tie rod slop and wheel bearing slop and other moving parts that can make it looks like your not landing at center each time

Default Draining battery

So I've got a bit of a random issue. My 4pk and futaba life battery have been great for just over a year. After my last race meeting I pulled out my tx about a week later and it wouldn't turn on. Turns out the battery was completely drained.

I can't see how it would have turned on in its bag and it had good charge at the end of the race meeting.

I've since charged it up and it's drained again.

It seems as though either the battery it faulty or the transmitter is draining the battery when it's turned off.

Any ideas?!

You should start by measuring the current drain of the 4PX in the off position and on position.

Sounds like the 4PX is loading the LiFe in the off state and draining the battery or your LiFe has no LiFe left in it.

Take out the battery after a full charge and see if it keeps it charge after a week. If it does then your transmitter is somehow vampire draining your battery. If that's the case I would just take out the battery from the transmitter after every race if the transmitter is still fully functional and you dont want to buy a new transmitter.

Thanks guys - that's kinda what I thought.

I charged it last night (as it was completely drained again) and it took just over 1700 - exactly what I'd expect it to from completely flat.

I've left it not plugged into the tx and will see how much charge it takes in 5 days time. I hope it's the battery - but I've got a strange feeling it's not.

We'll wait and see.

I take it no one has heard of anyone else with a similar issue?
