KO's stuff being made in Japan always carries a sense of having better build quality.
Not just the radios, but also their higher end servos.

Does anybody know what is the high point spring for?

I have been contemplating switching from my DX4R to a 4PX or an m12 and after reading all the issues with steering etc... I might have to just stay with spektrum...

No problem :)... Is this an isolated issue or overly common ? I really like the look and feel of the 4px.

Usual forum and internet impressions. Tends to focus problems out of proportion. If I have a problem with something, I do a search on the web and if I find others with the same problem tend to respond with mine to try and get a fix. This concentrates the problems.

We have a thread here with 223,751 views and two/three folks with the issue, I suspect it is not common or the thread would be bursting with it. Mine was a very early version from the first Tower Hobbies batch, still on V1 software and absolutely no issues other that I am still rubbish :D

I was wondering how to update to the latest software, I have 1.1 on it now.

During the 2 weeks when I could not fix my 4PX, I went out and got myself a Spektrum DX4R Pro. I used to have a Spektrum DX-3R and I liked it.

However, going to DX4R from 4PX wasn't easy. Once I managed to fix my 4PX, I'm no longer using my Spketrum anymore. The 4PX just felt so much more ergonomically right

Now I've a DX4R for sale...anyone interested? :p

However, on a serious note, some are affected, some are not.
If you do *touch wood* experience a problem, the contact cleaner on the board and connectors seems to work.

Just got back from the Bring The Heat race at Flowood R/C. There were probably 25 4PX's at the event. As an earlier adopter, its great to see the popularity of this radio taking off. To me, its a real indication of strong positive word of mouth of the radio, rather than a concentrated thread on the internet, where a handful of people come to look for answers for their issues.

1. Go to the Futaba website via this link http://www.futabarc.com/software-updates.html
2. Look down towards the middle of the page for the "4PX Software Update 1.2"
3. Their is a PDF file that provides detailed instructions. It's well documented and a very smooth process. The firmware updates that Futaba provides are nonvolatile, meaning that you don't lose your model settings.
