I had my first real problem with the radio today. The radio froze on me. I usually have a timer set on the radio to tell me to come in after 10 mins. During one of my runs, I find it unusual my radio havent buzzed or beeped at me. So I pulled in to pits since my arm was getting tired and looked at the radio. The screen was stuck and was not responsive to my inputs. I cant even turn the radio of. Funny thing is its still transmitting to my car.

I pulled the battery and plugged it back in and it worked again. Memory was still there, just that the clock had to be set again. The rest of the day the radio worked fine, kinda weird how it just froze.

Futabas answer is update the software.

I'm interested in a new remote. Would you guys say that most of these issues are the folks that didn't update ? Also do you think some new in the package 4px are not updated ??

I have this radio that I'm selling bec of getting out of the hobby for a while ,, my radio has only 12 1/2 hrs on it . I neaver had a problem with my radio and I raced outdoor's . I neaver updated the radio since new .. If anyone is interested please pm me your number and I'll send you pictures ,, thanks

Nothing beats the Futaba case it's very solid compared to the protek (I have both) well worth the $$

The Futaba case is good. If you travel a lot a Pelican case is the absolute best. I go to a lot of airplane contests and travel with my 14MZ. You cut the foam out to cradle the transmitter exactly. My trusty Pelican case has been on several continents and is totally bullet proof against the gorillas at the airlines.
