Has anyone replaced the screen on your radio? I have a couple of scratches on mine and I would like to replace it and then fit a protector.

Disregard last; found what I was looking for combing through the thread for some time.

Program the Tx or Esc?

I've new to this type of format, so please excuse me if I have managed to post this in the wrong place.

I have purchased a 4PX Tx and the Tekin DX8 (with Hotwire). I have zero experience with either so I have no bias on a direction on which way to go.

From my reading of both the Tekin website and the PX manual there appears to be overlap on some programable functions such as braking.

Is it better to program the radio or the Esc with the majority of functions? It would seem to me that letting as many of the functions reside in the transmitter would allow quick changes without using the Hotwire vs. letting the radio be "dumb" and programming the Esc?

Program most of the stuff using hot wire. Use the radio for minor changes. I have both an that how I use it..

Thank you. I will give it a try.

I am trying to update my radio, I have the file downloaded and on my sd card in the radio, I hold end down while turning the radio on. It just turns on like normal

Try a smaller capacity micro SD Card
ensure the card is formatted FAT32
ensure the firmware is unzipped correctly in root of the micro SD card

Just picked one up due to a huge sale at tower. They aren't kidding when they say not to use AA batteries. The set I used to set it up lasted all of 5 min. Hope the lipo comes soon.

On the receiver. Where should I plug the transponder into?

There's a setting where you can tell the radio if you are using lipo or AA battery. Make sure you set your radio right or you will always have low battery warning with AA.

Thanks. I had totally missed that in the menu. This is going to take a while to figure out.

I wouldn't run a lipo in the 4PX, I am running this Life battery in mine, works great and goes a long time between charges.

Been using these in my 4px and my sons 4pls. They last well over 2 race days and are less than 1/2 of the price of the protek. $16
