I've had this charger for a couple weeks. When i connect my 2c charging harness with balance. It shows somewhere around 1.5v on cell 1. Even without a battery connected. If i unhook the balance lead it doesnt show volatge. It has charged fine though. When i connect a battery the shown voltage is the same as my multimeter. Is this normal?

Hi Blake,

Can you provide links for the parts you used? I've tried to find no avail. Thanks!

Default Want to charge to 4.22V

Just got a 406Duo and a 40A discharger. Having an issue with trying to get it to charge to 4.22V after selecting the higher voltage in the menu of options. Is there another setting to adjust in the profile to make it happen? Thanks.

Hey Bill,

Are you charging a 1S pack I assume? Do you have it hooked through the balance port? If not it will not terminate the charge accurately.

Hey EA,

Yes, initially working on my 1S packs. And it is hooked up to the balance port (not temp) using a TQ made harness that does both 1S/2s packs (has switch to go back and forth).

Have now checked the Continue Charging After End box to see if that makes a difference. And it apparently does. Now charging to 4.22V.

Wish the supplied documentation about setup options was better.

Now...on to my 2s packs...LOL

Thanks for the quick response.

Bill

Hi Bill,

Just letting you that the "continue charging after end" option is to trickle charge the battery after CCV has been reached. If the termination voltage has been changed correctly, when charging, the display (top left corner) will display a flashing yellow box with red writing that new TVC is 4.2x (in your case 4.22v).

Hope that helps.

Leonard.

Hi Leonard,

Yes, the flashing 4.22v is showing.

Seems that the first time I run a test...the changes have not taken; but, the second try is good. Befuddling! <scratch head...LOL>

My 1S/2S battery IRs are now already about one quarter of what they were. So, quite happy about that.

Thanks for the input guys.

My battery connected not showing voltage on upper part of screen

Battery disconnected shows like I have 2s connected

Leads are fine.
Channel 2 works fine

(first, I admit I didn't read all 40 pages here, just trying to find an answer or get some help, PM is fine)

Just picked up a 406 and am looking for some help with the dialed settings. With everything at default other than the charge amperage, I feel like I'm getting "short charges" - I haven't really been sitting and watching it finish but I'm seeing them done at UNDER 8.4V usually 8.3* - if it was continually 8.39 that's one thing but it's been as low as 8.31 more than once.

These are NEW Reedy 4800 shorty packs with about 10 cycles on them now. Charging at 9.6A

I'm THINKING it's the "Balance Charge End" setting which is still set at the default.

Dude... I dunno, this thing is way over my head if I'm honest. Just want to get it setup so that I'm getting proper charges and not risking blowing anything up.

Balance Charge End -

1: The charger will stop balance charge if detects the
Balance condition is met, and the End Current
condition is invalid
2: The charger will stop balance charge if detects the End
Current condition is met, and the Balance condition is
invalid
3: The charger will stop balance charge if detects the End
Current condition or the Balance condition is met
4: The charger will stop balance charge if detects the End
Current condition and the Balance condition are met

I would assume number 4 is the best choice?
