I have got a really back to basics lame question here. I just bought a new Tekin Gen 2 8.5t combo (from my local shop, TRCR). I haven't opened it, won't until after the 25th. Can someone tell me exactly what I need to get it working through my Droid device?
1. App 2. Hotwire device? 3. Special cables? I guess I wasn't sure with the app if that nulled out the need for the Hotwire box, if the Hotwire box came with all of the cables, etc. I have spent enough the past month, I don't want to buying anything more than I need at this point. Thanks! |

Thanks! The HotWire you'll need to purchase from your LHS or an online retailer, usually about $40 or so. The OTG cable is device-specific. Which Android device will you be using? |

Thanks for the reply Ty! I am going to be using either a Samsung tablet, or possibly a Motorola Atrix if I can, I will try both.
Thanks again, I will grab the Hotwire device from TRCR! Also make sure the OS is 4.1.2 or lower. |

Just verify those devices support OTG. Some don't.

Yeah it's odd that Google stripped some OTG stuff out.
For example I have 2 Samsung Tab 2.0's. One 7" and one 10" both came with 4.0.4 when new. Both received the 4.1.2 update, app still worked fine. As soon as I updated either of them to 4.2.2 the app won't work properly. I've tried rooting, different rom's,etc. Clearly it's an issue on the AOS. So we're working along with other developers for solutions. |
What is an "OTG" cable?
