Amazon, Ebay, Best Buy would be at the top of my list

I PM'd Randy a couple weeks ago with valuable info in regards to a possible solution for the iOS/iPhone community and he was going to share and discuss with his colleagues and let me/us know what was decided.

I don't the status as of yet but I do hope to hear good news, though I'm not betting on it. I LOVE my Tekin ESC's but My Reventon R is of superb quality and is just as smooth and adjustable as the TEKIN so if in the future I feel I need to be able to make on the fly adjustments more frequently, I think I will switch to run all Speed Passion Reventon Pro ESC's exclusively. Their BT module makes adjusting parameters a synch and the quality, fit and finish of their products is among the best in the industry. The aluminum housings are an added bonus to an already fantastic product, so if I finally dredge up the courage to remove my RS Pro's, SP will be an easy transition.

Yes there are other options out there besides Tekin. Note that those same other options also have limitations, similar to us.

The answer is there isn't a single answer for each problem. We're watching these threads and social media feeds carefully right now.

Can we get a yes or no on gen 1 compatibility?

Please?

Im one of the apple fan boys for sure. but with the app i will be able to use it with my work phone (HTC Evo 4g) so i am good for now but would switch to my iphone instantly if it ever becomes available. Thanks for all the help Randy and the tekin team.

We never said that it won't be made available for Gen 1 units but at this time the Beta version is for Gen 2 units only. We are currently working on ways to improve and add upon the App...

Any idea if the Kidle Fire will run the app? was curious if it had been tested?

Tekin Prez 12-19-2013 02:26 PM

The Tekin Hotwire App will work with gen1 products  The Tekin Hotwire App would also work with Apple devices and Windows phones if they would let us.

We could have made the Android app only work on a new Gen2 version of the Hotwire and Gen2 products. Instead we decided to let it work everywhere, with everything, so everyone could enjoy it immediately. We have always improved our products along the way and offered free software updates to our loyal customers to add features and performance. Not many products have stayed competitive for as many years as our gen1 products have.

Unfortunately we did not complete the work to make it work with the Gen1 products in time for the release deadline we had set. We have released a Beta version to see how it goes with all the different devices and versions of the Android operating systems while we finish up the rest of the features and compatibility.

We have already seen our worst fear come true in that it works on 4.1 and does not work on the newer 4.2 and 4.3 versions that have been released. Just like the Apple issue it is out of our control and the rumors are that future versions of the Android operating system will fix the issues.

Hang with us and we will work it out as we go. That is the difference being part of the Tekin family and just buying electronics. We are always moving forward and try to give you the most value for your hard earned money.

I did try it on my wifes, not sure what version it was. It doesn't recognize the cable or the Hotwire.

This is the exact reason I run Tekin products. Product support is second to none.

The product says beta, which means work in progress. The 4.3 update dropped at a bad time is all. If the app works with Gen1 stuff thats great, however if it did not work with it I don't see an issue. The person posting how he is all Orion now, here is a fact for you. Orions came out with a new esc the R10 series, which you had to buy an $80.00 program box to program it because the old program box did not work on the new esc.
I got my notebook I take to the track for tuning for now if need be and have the buttons to adjust too. The app is just another tool to use. And to be honest after setting up the esc to my style I rarely change a setting. I think Tekin is right on track.

The thing I use the most is the data logger which I don't think is useable with the Android app. anyway??

Thanks to Randy and everyone at Tekin for all you do.
