Yeah and unfortunately once you go 4.3 you CAN'T go back down. Samsung alters the kernel and you can brick your phone rolling it back.

airtronics doesn't seem too worried about "roar rules". their speed control lets you adjust it through the radio.

I still like the programing card ideas much better. simple, reliable, can't cheat, etc etc. I think too many guys get hung up on the app and computer stuff for no good reason.
they both do the same exact thing. only one takes 100 times more effort to use after you iron out all the setup.

about as bad as my wireless printer at home that took over a year for HP to come out with reliable drivers for.
higher tech doesn't always = better in my opinion.

of course dabbing into the option is a good idea on tekin's part. you have to keep up with technology. it's never going away and will just continue to evolve.
but as we have seen these companies continue to make their products less and less user friendly. my old phone I could hook up to my computer and it seen it as a drive. now my new htc one has to have a htc synch drivers installed. I heard the samsung galaxy does too.
I also used to be able to control my phone's playlist via my truck stereo. but not on the new phone. they seem to be going backward not forward.

And you guys realize I was the one trying to help Randy and Tekin discover a work around for apple I devices right? As well Bluetooth is the more viable way to get this done for iOS being as there are no restriction in working with and through Bluetooth.

I think you should actually read the posts you're commenting on.

You clearly don't understand the USB technology and its use in phones. If all they did was charge the phone, it would be two wires. Theres multiple wires for the reason of data exchange. Most of the reason you cant hook a phone to USB for music has more to do with that stereo communicating via Apple software.

well something has changed as my old phone allows my radio to access it's playlist. my new phone does not.

You must use what is referred to as an "OTG" or "on the go" cable. Make sure your phone support this option also.

My droid razor 3 works great with the new app. Its real easy and the cable was $4 at Fry's.

I got the connector for the Tab 2 at Best Buy. I would try that or possibly Circuit City (we don't have them here any longer, thought they went out of biz)

I'm betting either the cable you're using ISN'T an OTG cable or it's bad. I too had one that didn't work and others that did. You can verify this by using a USB thumb drive with the cable. IF the tablet sees the drive, it should see and power the hotwire. Now if it sees the drive and you can read the file but the Hotwire doesn't power up. Your tablet may not put out enough power to power it all up. In this case, you should be able to power on the car, or use a powered USB hub.

LMK, I'm curious now.

Randy,

I have a note 10.1 running 4.1.2 also. Im waiting on my otg cable to come in. It should be any day now. i can let you know if it works.

You can try Walmart but I wouldn't be surprised if they don't have it. Sure beats a 50 mile drive. Assuming you have a a Walmart closer
