Randy, we dont need a OTG with the hotwire 2.0? Not sure who told you "this week" on the app but that's not entirely accurate. We are working diligently on this project. |
I emailed the app through the app store and a guy names Chris K replied telling me hopefully this week.

Team driver tried to connect to my brand new rx8 with his phone and wouldn't connect. Worked on all of his rx8s. Same things for another guys new rx8 as well. Any idea where the issue is?

Have you updated the ESC firmware? Or unpackaged, installed and ran it?
I tried to hook up to a friends that never updated and it would not connect. |
No I haven't as I don't have a hw yet. .. not in stock here.
A week old esc needs updated? |
I may be a week old to you but the firmware was loaded when it was packaged up so that could be one or two revisions old by now.
I know mine worked with the app without a hitch but I have the most recent firmware. The first firmware version for that ESC was before that app so if that's what your ESC happens to have, that may be the issue. Have the tracks shop update you or see if someone at the track has their notebook with them to update you. |

Ok guys, I have a Samsung tablet that has Android version 4.1.2. I've updated the firmware on my RS Gen 2. I'm using the 1st gen Hotwire. I get the error saying it can't connect to the esc when I open the Hotwire app.
Am I doing something wrong? I thought the issue with Android was version 4.2 or higher? I plug the Hotwire into my esc, then I plug the Hotwire into my OTG cable, which is already plugged into my tablet. Will it only work on earlier version of android prior to 4.1.2 until Tekin updates the app? Thanks! |
Try plug in the lipo and turn on the ESC.

Yes, new ESCs generally need to be updated. Aren't you trying to hook it up to an Android? If so then you need the Hotwire, verify the software version and go from there
What's retail on these new hot wires? Went to get one at lunch and $50! It stayed there... that's stupid. Went the last ones $30 something? |

I have the same setup as you and it works fine. The only thing I can think is that your plug is not a true OTG
My problem is the Samsung Galaxy Tab3 7.0!!! The Tab3 7.0 does not have OTG USB support!!!!:flaming::flaming: One of the main reasons I purchased a tablet is so I wouldn't have to cart a laptop to the track!!!!:flaming::flaming::flaming: I can't return my tablet, I've had it for more than 30 days!!! |
