I dont see why not. It runs stock android. Download the app, plug everything in, and you should be on your way.

HTC one (blue edition) gen 1 hotwire $5 otg of off flea bay works flawlessly!
My phone just did some major sense update and it still works perfect!
Pure hobby awesomeness!

brake min ? The amount of brake when first applied.
- active brake ? Acts like ABS braking on real cars, keeps the tires from locking up. 1-3 is for offroad and 4-6 is more onroad.
- push control ? This is the opposite of drag brake. Keeps the car rolling after the throttle is let off. Helpful in 4wd cars where they tend to "push" under braking.
- throttle min ? Minimum motor speed. Sets the motor speed at the minimum amount of throttle.
- reverse speed ? The highest speed the vehicle can go in reverse, if you have reverse enabled.

Thinking about picking up a RS Gen2 and using the hotwire / android app for updating. Had a couple questions...On the last page Randy said that he is using a cable with his S4. I too have an S4 and would prefer to use it instead of going out and buying a cheap tablet. On the tekin website it says the app is compatible with android 3.1-4.1, as far as i know im using 4.4 on my verizon phone. So, i take it that its not compatible, correct? Is there a way to utilize my phone with the app? I read that i cant update software with my phone, would use my laptop for that, but it would be nice to adjust settings on my phone. Is it possible to access the data logging feature on the phone as well. Thanks in advance!

That's outdated info. The app now works on higher versions. I am using a verizon S4 without issues.
No data logs on the phone.
If you have hotwire 1 you need an otg cable. If you have hotwire 2 you can use any cable.

Thanks for the quick reply. I will end up getting the hotwire 2 as well.

Yeah, if you don't already have hotwire then you might as well get the 2.
If you already have hotwire 1 an otg cable is only $4 so it would be a lot cheaper to just get the cable.

Beta version only?

I got my mini tab and downloaded the app. But all that seams available is a Beta version. Is that correct? And where DL dual mode? Also I see no option for data logging.

Hoese37 06-16-2014 06:15 PM

Yes the Beta version is all there is currently. There is no data logging for the mobile app, that's a computer program exclusive as of now.

Not sure if this specific model of phone has already been reported but...

Using my LG G2 running version 4.4.2 of Android, I was able to get my Tekin RS Pro Gen 1 and RSX working with my Hot Wire 2.

Thanks Tekin!

Well I would rate it as Beta version 0.0. Very disappointed I expected the same little control panel to pop up on my tablet. But I got some archaic DOS thing, if any one of can go back as far that. After saving changes on the PC version I would be worried to save changes made from this thing. Why can't we have the same user interface? After all it has always been a little control panel.

fq06 06-17-2014 08:50 PM

Did you want super graphics that takes up 30mb? It is a control panel and does everything needed. If you want to get disco and read logs after every run, bring a note/mac book.

I dont know about DOS, if it literally looks like DOS somethings seriously wrong.

RKK_J 06-18-2014 02:24 AM

I think the app look is totally functional!!!
I'm just missing the datalogs! Hope for a new version soon...
