At this point in time, that's accurate. However a future update(according to Google) may fix the issue.

Wow! What a gyp! The only reason I have stuck with my 2 Tekin RS speedos was because this was coming. Now to find out it only works with old phone systems and new Tekin speed controls. Looks like I am going away from Tekin. I have a couple Orions that will mounted up tonight.

This pretty much blows. I have 3 Gen 1s and a Gen2. Looks like I'm still stuck w the laptop! WTF? Very disappointed.

Compatibility with only Tekins newest ESCs sounds like a way for them to sell more ESC's.

I recently got a Tekin RS Pro anticipating this app, however now I'm not too happy with them.

the gen2 has been out for 9 months. Why not just get the new stuff anyway?

There is no Gen2 for mod right now, that's why. My RS gen 1 got too hot for my liking outdoors, had an lrp for a bit, then a RS Pro.

Also, because I don't have tons of money to buy new stuff.

Unless tekin announces support for gen 1 esc's, mine will be for sale and I'll go back to LRP or another brand.

They hyped up this app so much, now that it's here, many people can't use it because they don't have tekins latest and greatest.

you gotta keep up with the Jones :) And he said that he "Just" bought them. If your going to buy new, why not get the latest... If you have had the old stuff for years, you probably have a laptop at ready. I ready pages and pages of people saying laptops are fine to tore around.

I didn't buy it. I traded for it locally. I also don't have a laptop, only a computer at home.

Crap. I have 8 gen 1's in a lot of vehicles... have been waiting for the app to stop dragging the laptop with all the other stuff.
Will anyone confirm this is for gen 2 only and going to stay that way? Or will it eventually be usable for us broke folks that can't buy all new esc's.

Everyone needs to RELAX! Hell it's marked BETA to the right of the HW. Beta means TEST version to me so I'm sure they will have something figured out for the gen 1's eventually. I've been waiting all this time another few weeks or even months isn't going to bother me! Let's not start a bash session on Tekin.....let them get things figured out....Rome wasn't built in a day!
