OMG, it's been asked repeatedly and the answer is still the same.

If your Android device's OS is previous to 4.2 it will work just fine. If your device is running OS 4.2 or newer it will not work.

OMG calm down!

I already said it worked from an OS perspective.

Let me ask this - if my tablet connects to the Hotwire and ESC - am I good to go ? I haven't tried saving anything but I played around changing options etc so it looks Like it will work.

Sounds like your all set.

Thanks buddy. And might i say, this is a very cool app. Can't wait to start using it at the track. Based on this alone in thinking about moving a lot of my gear over to Tekin.

So if you know it works, why bother asking the same question again?

Is there any importance to the cable length?
And does is work ok? I dont want to be a guinea pig

Not all phones (regardless of the OS) support OTG at the hardware level. I seen a real life example of this the past weekend. The model of the phone escapes me at the moment.

Cable length should not matter (just more opportunity to get damaged I suppose). However, if you look at the pinouts for an OTG cable (google it), you'll see that a proper cable makes use of the otherwise un-used "Sense" pin on the micro USB connector. Some shoddy cables claiming to be OTG cables/adapters do not take this connection to ground and thus don't work.

Nothing wrong with plugging into an esc ;)

Well i tested it on my samsung galaxy nexus on 4.3 and of course a no-go. I reverted it back to 4.1.2 and work just fine. I will be testing it on 4.4 here soon, when i have time to download it and flash it to my phone. Does anyone have a nexus 5 or 4 to comfirm that it works on 4.4

ebay007 12-24-2013 10:48 AM

Is it ok to solder a cable?
I can't find a micro usb male to mini usb male... (a link would be appreciated)

I know on the Nexus 5 with 4.4 it's not working. I also have been told the Nexus 5 has some issues with OTG in general.

Do not solder on the cables. It's far better to pick up the correct one.
