Jeez, enough about the batteries already. Over 40 pages of battery info. I'm sure it's all been said many times over. Pick a page, any page, your questions are answered.
Sorry for the rant, it's been building up.

A lot of questions could probably be answered on the ancient DX2.0/3.0 thread. Replacing the voltage regulator was a favourite there.

How about a steering wheel, will one of the wheels from yeah racing work?

monkeyracing 03-01-2016 02:31 PM

Almost. Their Spektrum adapter is a bit wonky. Needs to be "adjusted" to fit.

DX4R firmware page

Anyone know if Spektrum is going to fix the DX4R firmware download page? Can't seem to get a reply from them.

Thanks

Ordered one in bright freaking orange. Thanks for the link!

Tried some 700mah lifepo4 AA batteries on Friday. They lasted maybe 45 minutes. go big or go home, I guess.

Get the green and yellow NIZN batteries off ebay. Bottom of page 45. Charger and batteries for under $20. Mine are going strong at 2 years. I have 8 batteries that I rotate.

It was an experiment. May still build a 2s2p out of the 4 I've got, but I'm thinking a TX pack would be a better idea. I only want one battery that needs an occasional charge.

Had a look at the voltage regulator, btw. It's the old reliable 5209 linear regulator (BS format, Micrel). It runs the internals at 3.3v, and burns the rest off as heat. Changing to a switching regulator ($5) would vastly increase battery life, but I'm not feeling all that enthusiastic right now. Here's the basic gist of swapping one out. Improving runtime on a DX6

I finally decided to buy a DX4R Pro and decided to register it so I could do any updates to it.
Upon doing so it says that I have update downloads ready for it but I cannot find what to download as the “tab” with “AirWare™ Software Updates” is greyed out and does not do anything link wise

Any advice? I have sent two emails to Spektrum without a reply yet

With the speed setting o. The steering. How does the percentage work.

Example if I have a 0.07s servo and set it to 50% what speed would it do. Does anyone how it does the calculations.

I'm Trying to get my 0.07s servo to the same speed as my 0.08s, anyone got any ideas on how to work it out. I suspect I'm Struggling with the extra speed and want to test. Then I can gradually come back to 100

Thanks in advance

The YR wheel hub does take a lil noddibg to get fitting right, but mine works perfectly and its much better than stock, I like its smaller and alluminum as it feels great through the foam.

Monster Trucking with AVC is BOSS, cant tell its on & wow what a great system. Pavement to dirt n back on street tires no problem, no wonky spins or pulling off to a side if one tire hits dirt or whatever. The system is awesome, love it. Its just no business in a Race, but neither does an MT either lol

I'm probably better off selling my DX4R and buying a DX4S for my situation but would like to try the DX4R with a trigger I'm used to.

Did you ever get an answer for this? I too like the old-style trigger and would like to know if there is a mod or a replacement trigger for the dx4r Pro. I put tape around the trigger to try to ship it like the old-style trigger and it seems to work for now but, I would like to switch it if possible. I noticed that the new dx6r has the old style trigger on it, but at over $500 actually close to $600 I think I'll keep my dx4r for now.

The 6R is going to have a 3d trigger. Wish this was possible on the 4R, as my hands are pretty messed up.

Yes, according to the description on Spektrum's site the 6r trigger is adjustable. Also, my LHS has quoted me a price of $450 for the DX6r so I doubt it will be close to $600. Even MSRP is $500.
