Just checked my firmware and was at 1.02. Checked spektrums site and I was able to download 1.05.7. I now have avc
|
Super.
This version will disable all RF protocols except DSMR and DSM2-16.5m Next radio will be Futaba or Airtronics. |
Apologies for my earlier cursing, guys. There's no excuse for it.

I can only imagine how nice the m12s is as that's airtronics flagship radio. Only downside is rx's r more expensive with airtronics |
I had glitching with the DX4R before going to the NIZN batteries. I have to really justify an M12S with as little racing that I do. I am looking at it, but unless I got some loose change...

Glitching
This past weekend I raced at a track that seems to have heavy signal saturation or some sort of interference. My vehicle would loose steering around the one turn almost every time. About 6-7 other Spektrums guys also had issues and there were several that didn't.
Any thoughts on what might be causing it and how to fix it? Would a firmware update help? |

No this occurs on the Mushroom Bowl 10th scale track. Oddly enough it only happened in one of the classes I raced. I thought maybe it was a receiver going bad but I swapped out with a new one and no change.
Also saw glitching at the old MRRC track in LI - but that affected other brands too.. Both cases have overhead cables pretty close by. But the fact that many of you had issues is pretty odd. Sounds like you tried another received and hence re-binded....Doesn't sound a specific radio issue, something environmental. You using DMSR receivers or older DSM2 ? |
Anybody running FlySky or similar Chinese radio? They've been known to cause a little trouble.

Yeah pretty odd. I've seen a couple of issues at T&L and the cars are very sensitive to making sure my receivers had good antennas (found out one of my 410's had a cut in the antenna and had to swap it out with another).

The weird thing is the glitch happened at the same exact spot on the track every time |
why is there a difference in price between spm4100 and spm4100w? is there one better than the other? is it too late in the game for dx4rpro or something new coming out soon? thanks.

If the same glitch is happening for everybody at the same spot, regardless of where they're located on the drivers stand, then the interference is localized to that spot, or there's something between the driver's stand and that spot. EG: structural, electrical, or perhaps other systems operating at 2.4ghz, wifi antenna/booster, amateur radio)
If the glitch occurs depending on where you're standing on the drivers stand, there may be something in the stand or where you hold your radio in relation to it. EG: If I'm on the stand (it's made of metal pallet racking) I hold my radio low. Sometimes the vertical supports will block my radio signal at specific parts of the track. If ther are no obvious physical/electronic barriers - Drivers stand is clear, open room with no supports, stone age electronic systems, then the fall backs are someone owns a cheap radio, or there's a black hole under the carpet. That's all I've got and I'm switching to Sanwa, because I'm tired of this stuff. |
Spektrum Dx3r pro vs Airtronics mt4s
I was wondering if any of you guys have had the Dx3r pro and switched to the mt4s. If so could you tell a difference? Was is more responsive? Thanks.
