Well, my NIZN batteries are giving up, and after only 2 years! I guess I can live with that. There are some new ones out that are 2800 v.s. 2500 that these are, so I guess it's time for an upgrade! $18 for 4 ea. shipped, not to bad. they started showing 6.3 volts after a charge, so they got to go, especially when new they show 7.1 volts. The new batteries are the solid green ones off eBay.

im looking at upgrading from my rtr traxas vehicles 27mhz tq and recently purchased futaba t3pg because i would like a good left handed 2.4ghz radio. Will this radio bind with the different dsm2 knockoffs out there yet? I found a deal on a new dx4r pro that includes 3 hitec HS-5645MG servos and the 2 receivers. i could use 3 some servos on my clod build and maybe my traxxas stampede.

It does bind with the Blue knock offs, but you have to set them to 5.5 or they will not bind. I am running one in my Desc210R right now with no problems at all.

hobby king has a sale of the turnigy ones going for $0.80. I bought 16 of those plus other stuff for when i get a new transmitter either a futaba 4px or the dx4r. I will be using my newer sky rc mc3000 multi charger to charge the nizn. there is some more info on those powergenix and turnigy aa nizn over a candlepowerforums . com . The turnigys supposedly test out with a higher capacity than the powergenix ones.

Just got the DX4R PRO and have a question that has probably been asked before but what are the black discs for?

monkeyracing 05-05-2016 01:46 PM

Throwing at your competitors on the drivers stand.

(or maybe to put on the ground to drive around for practice)

Upon doing so it says that I have update downloads ready for it but I cannot find what to download as the “tab” with “AirWare™ Software Updates” is greyed out and does not do anything link wise

Any advice? I have sent two emails to Spektrum without a reply yet

I have the Older Dx4r pro model #SPM4100. It shows i have an update for it. Have you gotten any answer for the download? I get the same thing when i try to download.

Also which Receiver is better for a 1/5 scale between the Sr310 that comes in the Losi DBXl Buggy or the Sr410 & Sr2000 That comes with the Dx4r Pro radio?

monkeyracing 05-21-2016 11:48 AM

I had the "update available" message constantly with my dx4s and now my 4r, even immediately after updating. I think their website is stoned.

So you guys are telling me RC Car radios are going to have Wi Fi?
I kinda figured something like that would happen eventually.
Wi Fi Updates so you don't have to manually do it yourself.
That means if a Pro Driver has a radio preset you can download it into your radio.

I have a older DX4R Pro and a friend has a newer version of it with AVC, and his wont bind with dsm receivers, and thats the majority of his receivers. I wont update mine because I do have a few of the original DSM and use them.

It's not a stretch. Wifi modules are incredibly cheap and are already being built into ESCs. Not sure how it'd work out for racing, though. The wifi protocol has a little more latency than systems currently in place. Downloading pro drivers radio settings would be interesting. I have to wonder how someone else's radio settings would work with my car. Not sure if Spektrum would allow it, or get it right.

Yeah they finally got back to me and said the website isn't correct and there is no update.

Anyway I'm looking for a bag for my radio and will most likely get the JConcepts bags one question and it is most likely stupid however does it fit it no worries with the drop down?

I got the same response from Spektrum, that there is no update. The version on my DX4R is 1.02 and I know there has to be an update because my DX4R is missing the AVC menu.

I called Spektrum yesterday to see what the deal is on the firmware and the person didn't seem to know much of anything. He made mention that if they pull the firmware down it could mean they are discontinuing the radio. Not sure if that makes since to me.

guss2009 06-07-2016 01:01 PM

Hey do any of you guys know what setting to use on the Spektrum Dx4r pro radio to use a Super killer Rc Kill Switch?

jprochnow 06-18-2016 01:48 PM

Just looking at my radio and I'm also missing the avc menu. What the heck.
