DX4R Pro

Hey mate, I've posted the question on another tread. From what I can gather AVC (advanced vehicle control) is not ROAR approved and never will be. We think they are doing this promo to get it in more peoples/ basher and weekend warriors like you and me to give it a run and fall in love lol. It's seems like a cool function but it is kinda cheating.... But it's good against friends who don't know about it lol
My question is what makes the other receivers different from each other in relation to their functions?....and which one would be best to use? It's hard to commit to making a purchase unless I can find some justification, or NEED.

Hate to hear this. Just got my DX4Pro and ran it at the MWS race in Toledo. It's nitro onroad. Loved the feel and response from this unit. I bound it to a DSM 3100 and it was flawless! I still have to install the DSM-R Rx. It will be even better from what I'm told!

Hey guys, I've been reading through this thread and a few questions have been answered already, but I've got a few more.
Does this radio have different battery options in the menu? I've got the DX4S and it has options for alkaline, nimh, life and lipo.
How is the battery life on regular, alkaline AAs? I've gotten as much as 37 hours on a set from my DX4S and hadn't hit the low voltage cutoff. I just got nervous.
Can anyone suggest an appropriately sized, quality LiFe pack for this?
Thanks very much for your help!

Alkalines are fine if changed regularly. I would not let it approach the 5.5 mark when racing. That is why i like the NiZn, but I have only had these for 3 months. They rarely dip below 6 volts, and that would be three weeks of racing. You would need a 6.6 volt 1800 mah or higher life battery. You will also need to remove the battery tray, solder the wires, and add foam. That is why I am using NiZn, less hassle. I have seen Lipo's in these as well, and they are around 8 volts charged, not sure I would try that. Spektrum needs to make a Life kit for these, and they should come standard.

And what is LVC for these anyway?..that's hard to determine since you set the warning buzzer yourself
I've run down to under 5v (indoors)
