I've read all these posts and some of you talk about cheap blue receivers. I've clicked on the links to two posts and the link to Target Hobby says "sorry the product was not found". Can these receivers be found elsewhere?
Thanks

i have a question, is the dx4r's range better? i see tests of futabas going over 1000' (not that id ever drive it that far) but i have seen numerous posts of the spektrums having horrible range ...i noticed my dx3c has ok range (no problems at local tracks,or bashing) but just want to know before i pull the trigger on the dx4r pro

I think it depends on the battery used. But will it be better, who knows. I have had no issues since dropping the 1.2 volt rechargeable batteries, and going to the 1.6 volt rechargeable. The difference was 5.4 volts versus 7.1, a huge difference in performance. These batteries should be the standard in this radio.

I'm looking at getting my first good transmitter. I'm pretty much sold on the DX4s or r. I've just been pricing them up and have noticed Amain and gonitrohobbies on ebay are giving away 2 x ACV receivers for 'FREE'. This sounds like a great deal BUT the sceptic in me is asking why. Is there a new model coming out and they are trying to clear stock???? Or is this just a SUPER deal???

Can someone explain why the DX4R comes with 2 receivers, and a new promotion is offering a 3rd receiver for free?
What do these receivers do differently and why? I'm seriously considering this radio but don't want to buy one that offers crap I don't need or isn't ROAR legal. I like the idea of tracking telemetry (lap times), because we don't use transponders yet, so telemetry is the main feature that peaks my interest.
Other DX4R radio 'kits' I see on a popular auction site offers spare servos and some offer other goodies like a set of rechargeable batteries and the plug-in charger. Any input you have on these 'kits' would be helpful too.
I'm still relatively new at radio technology so it's OK to dumb it down, you're likely to lose me with technical terminology.
Currently using a Spektrum DX3c, and I still don't completely understand everything it can do.

I don't understand all of it either. I bought the one from the dealer in N.Y. off eBay, who was throwing in a Savox 1258 servo as well for $349. The ACV can actually steer the car straight, so it is deemed illegal to use, but for fun? You can hold the car in the air and move it side to side, and it will straighten out the wheels automatically to the front. It is very impressive to watch.
