Also any word on the firmware update? Is it worth doing if I don't have that new receiver

Don't sound like anyone knows Bob. I asked also...May try it on an off-week.

I did the firmware update. Used it at a weekend force race. Worked good.

I must mention one thing I don't like is the down timer. To reset it you must hold the start button for 5 seconds even tho it says 3 seconds in the manual. I can fuel my car much faster than 5 seconds.

I have noticed that. During a race while I was getting fueled I tried to reset the down timer and my buggy was already on pit lane and ready to go and the timer wasn't reset yet. I had to stop using the timer which is one reason I got the 4R Pro. I have issues hearing my pit guy and the race announcer and need the vibrate mode to alert me for pits.

Exactly. It's such a problem I'm looking at switching radios. Timer is a big deal nitro racing.

Seems like a simple firmware fix. Did anyone contact Spektrum/Horizon with complaints ? Just curious. thanks

Ok guys, just got this as my first high end Radio system. I was using a stock Traxxas TQi with docking base prior to this.

How do you set up the A-F buttons?

Expo: if you want to slow down steering would you apply + or - expo? (Same with Throttle)

Any other tips/tricks I should know? I'm going to do my best to read thru this post in the meantime.

Anyone?

Seems kind of weird we have to tell a Team driver on how setup a Tx.

Page 17 in the manual tells how to set the control buttons.

Positive expo will slow the control down and vice versa. If you experimented with the values and drove the RC, you could've probably answered that question awhile ago.

Negative expo slows down the control, positive speeds it up.

Not on Spektrum radios. It is opposite of Futabas and KOs. Positive on Spekrum slows down the response around neutral and negative speeds it up. Why they did it opposite of logic makes no sense but it is how they programmed it and list it in the manual.

I have dropped the sr2000 rx's and just going to run the generic ones. For some reason they work better at the indoor track, and still show 5.5 frames. I just bought three for $24, and can get them in three days. The NIZN batteries work great, and charge up very fast. I am now showing 7.4 volts starting up, and drop to 6.6 volts at the end of the night, racing two cars indoor.

Why are you dropping them? Me and several other guys I race with are running the sr2000's without any issues whatsoever.
