Let me clear a few things up. Yes RSX has undergone a small surface
mount component change. Anytime something like this occurs, it slows
down production as well means we need to thoroughly test the new part
to assure the performance is exactly as expected. This takes time as
I'm sure you can understand. This time unfortunately occurred during
the holiday season, so it took longer than normal.
That being said, units are back in production and we do not expect
any future delays at this time. To answer your question of "are you charging us for these repairs that really not any fault of the customer?" We always stand behind our products, period. This particular component has nothing to do with a product failure. IF the component(s) that caused your failure for example are no fault of your own, it's use, etc then yes those are warrant-able under the 120 day period, or at our discretion outside that period.
I hope this helps clear things up.

Ordered all my parts for a new car back in September. Car's built, have everything else but my Tekin RSX ESC 8.5 Gen3 Sensored BL Motor System. At least 2 times a month Tower Hobbies changes the ETA from 'Early *insert month*' to 'Late *insert month*'.... it's now almost 5 months later and still waiting for my Tekin parts.
Emails to Tower Hobbies and Tekin are of no help. Tekin support says nothing is wrong, and blames Tower Hobbies for their ETA. Tower Hobbies say their ETA's come from Tekin....

In the posts immediately above, Randy stated that they had a design change that they are implementing. They probably ceased production of the previous revision to switch to the new one. That has an impact on the manufacture of their products and availability down the line.
I have seen new board revs take 6+ weeks from a low volume shop in the US. I can imagine a higher production manufacturer takes longer. So start the clock when they started disappearing off the shelf in say October. We are about 12 weeks in. That is right around when I would expect to have new boards in hand for my designs. But that is purely a guess based on another industry.
You have to decide if it is worth it to wait and get rev2 of the product with the new design or go to something else.
BTW I noticed Amain changed their ETA from Jan 29 to Feb5.

I totally understand what you are saying but, they should have based the eta on the rsx accordingly. Im not bashing Tekin and i know they are a stand up company, but this wait is becoming ridiculous!

Most plans start looking good and reasonable, but often take a little longer than expected. I think that is part of the eternal optimism of being an Engineer. We got this, test…. oops wait a minute, Ok we are good, test…. hmm better check that out, test…. yep we got it now lets build them! Wait… OK now we are good. Hit that go button!
If we make a mistake we make it a thousand times, so we are really careful not to make mistakes
RSX started shipping again last week and should be showing up in stock many places by now.

Expected delivery dates just got pushed out again. My order now says mid-Feb. This is very frustrating and seems like this trend will continue. I've built my first SCT and it's complete except for an ESC. I have a Tekin Redline Gen 3 7.5T motor sitting in it.
Any advice on what to do? Is there value in having your ESC the same brand as your motor? Is there another Tekin ESC that will work?
Thanks ahead for the assistance.

I did something very stupid. I plugged a battery in backwards and a puff of smoke came out of the esc. It instantly de-soldiered the battery terminal and when I re-soldiered them and plugged the esc in and turned it on, it turns on just fine and the car seems to work. I haven't run it for any length of time, as I don't want the esc to blow up. Should I just send it in for a check-up, or since it turns on and runs, trust that I didn't do any damage to it?
Thank you in advance!
